PALM COAST, Fla. -- A husband and wife each face 37 charges of child pornography after Flagler County sheriff's deputies found illegal photos on a computer in their home.

Investigators executed a search warrant Tuesday morning at the Carlos Court home of Alton Everett Smith Jr., 46, and Tina Marie Smith, 43. Detectives found computer disks containing photographs showing minor males and females -- some as young as 8 years old -- engaged in various sexual acts.

The photographs also show the Smiths engaging in sexual acts with minors. Investigators believe some of the children in the photographs may be from the Daytona Beach area.

"We have shut down this operation as a result of this investigation. Now we need to identify and assist the victims," said Sheriff Donald W. Fleming.

"If anyone thinks their child may have been victimized by this couple, we are asking them to contact us," said Flagler County Sheriff's Office Maj. David O'Brien. "This is an ongoing investigation."

Investigators discovered the photos as part of their investigation into a prostitution operation they said was run by the couple's daughter, Kristilyn Smith, 25, out of the couple's Palm Coast home.

Kristilyn Smith was arrested on Dec. 12 on one charge of prostitution. She was released after posting $500 bond.

Tina Smith was arrested Tuesday and charged with possession of child pornography. Bond for Smith was set at $925,000.

Investigators have not located Alton Smith, who will face the same charges.

Smith is described as 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighing 150 pounds with sandy brown hair. He may be traveling on the Intracoastal Waterway on a 1979 blue and white sailboat with hull numbers FL1581MJ.

Some local kids could be connected to a child pornography case.

Investigators arrested a woman but her husband is still on the run after detectives said they found computer disks with child porn in their home.

Investigators said disks show a couple engaging in sex acts with children, and because it's possible some of the children may be from Central Florida.

The children were lured to a now-closed photography studio where the pictures at times weren't the standard portraits.

"This is a bizarre case for us to have here in Flagler County. We have parents bringing their kids here thinking they'll have a legit portfolio of pictures, and they may have been abused and photographed by this individual," Maj. David O'Brien of the Flagler County Sheriff's Office said.

Investigators have already arrested Tina Smith, 43, accusing of her of possessing child porn.

They said her husband, Alton Everett Smith, 46, is on the run -- possibly on a sail boat on the intracoastal waterway.

They said they found hundreds of images of sex acts in the Smith home, which was set up like a photography studio.

They ask parents in the Daytona Beach area to give them a call if they ever went to the couple’s studio in Holly Hill called A-1 Hot Shots if they think something horrible happened to their children.

I just got off the phone with the dr's nurse re: these patients, they will be discharged as patients as they have been given scripts for meds that now are very questionable!! and yes they don't even pay pay thier bills.. I knew they were pieces of shit and tried to have them discharged a long time ago..

PALM COAST, Fla. -- Investigators say hundreds of children were used as sex objects in Volusia and Flagler counties. Police say Alton Smith is a child pornographer and he forced local children to have sex on camera in his studio.

Smith is on the run, possibly on a sailboat that hasn't been seen in days. Investigators said he may be traveling down the Intracoastal Waterway or may have stopped in the Daytona area, one of the places where it's believed he shot pictures of children.

Smith has multiple web sites filled with his photography. Neighbors said he sat outside his Palm Coast home and bragged about being a "porn king," but investigators say he had hundreds of explicit pictures and videos of children, as young as eight or nine, and it may have started years ago with Smith's own daughter.

"He then started pimping her out, living off the proceeds from her, taking photos of her and putting them on a website," explained Major David O'Brien, Flagler County Sheriff's Office.

Smith and his wife actually did an interview with Eyewitness News last year when money they were raising for a relative was stolen. Even then, investigators said they were likely involved in child porn.

Eyewitness News found a small Holly Hill strip mall listed as one of the locations Smith used as a studio and his own house was set up with cameras to broadcast sex live on the Internet.

"One thing led to another out of this whole investigation. This is a bizarre case," O'Brien said.

Not only are investigators frantically trying to find Smith and the sailboat he may be on, they need to identify hundreds of children who had their pictures taken over the last 10 years.

The investigation is only going to get bigger. There are still a half-dozen computer hard drives that investigators haven't even had time to look at.

Kristylyn Smith was arrested in Volusia County on a child neglect charge, but posted a $100,000 bond Thursday to get out of jail. Smith is one of three people connected to pictures and videos of hundreds of children found in a Palm Coast home.

Kristylyn's mother, Tina Marie Smith, remained jailed Friday on child porn charges, but investigators are still looking for Kristylyn's father, Alton Smith, who could be on a sailboat in the Intracoastal Waterway.

Smith has been in trouble with authorities recently. She was arrested December 12 for prostitution, and was out of jail on bond.

She was charged Wednesday with child neglect for failing to enroll her 7-year-old son in school.

Smith was released Thursday on $100,000 bond.

Also Wednesday, Smith's mother was arrested and charged with 37 counts of child pornography. Her father, wanted for the same charges, is on the loose.

I was at my corner Sunoco getting some ciggs as I was waiting I started a conversation with a sheriff waiting to pay for gas (mercedes by the way) and asked him if they found Alton Smith yet? He said no, but a lady in front of him said Lisa Smith worked as a cashier in the store, Man the lightbulb went off in my head, Yup I remember her, she worked there quite awhile, but what's incredible is that there are 2 schools in the immediate area, Too damn close to home, OMG this is big!!

Shit, just showed my husband the pics and he tells me he gave her our jacuzzi we were getting rid of, and Alton Smith came to pick it up, they were moving to palm coast, it was this past summer, his studio was at our local shopping center, God I hope he didn't abuse any of our local kids, Damn...

I kind of know a woman who is alot like Kristylyn, Her mom and dad had all the kids ( boy and girls ) out turning tricks for cash to support there drug habbits, Its not a pretty story at all. I try and help her but she just spends all the money on drugs for her and the toys I give to the boy get sold for more drugs as well.

Kristylyn is probly broke beyond fixing and no amount of therapy can help her. Hopefull the boy can be saved before it to late for himl. I sure hope he wasnt one of the kids in the picts but thats just wishfull thinking, cause i do not dought that he was.

PALM COAST -- Deputies say a man wanted in a huge child pornography case may be headed to the Bahamas.

Alton Smith, 46, is believed to be on a sailboat.

Crews searched the water Friday for the boat, but came up empty-handed.

Smith was arrested in mid-December and charged with prostitution.

The arrest led to a search warrant and the discovery of sexually explicit photos of hundreds of children and videos taken over years.

Smith now faces dozens of counts of possession of child pornography.

His daughter, Kristilyn, also faces charges of child neglect regarding her autistic, school-aged son who does not attend school and can be seen in video footage watching his mother engaged in sex.

Alton's wife, Tina Smith, was arrested Dec. 30 and charged possession of child porn. She remains in the Flagler County Jail.

NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- A Flagler County man wanted on child pornography charges was arrested Monday morning at a New Smyrna Beach hotel.

Deputies had been looking for Alton Smith, 46, since last week on dozens of counts of posession of child pornography. See Previous Story.

U.S. Marshals and New Smyrn police found Alton climbing down from the 6th floor of the hotel, and took him into custody once he was on the ground.

Deputies last week said Smith's home computer contained photos showing minors engaged in sexual acts.

Smith's wife was arrested last week on the same charges.

He attempted to elude capture by scaling down six balconies of the

The images were discovered during an investigation into a prostitution ring that investigators said Kristilyn Smith ran out of the home. She was initially arrested on a prostitution charge on Dec. 12 and released on bond.

Alton Smith Jr., jailed on charges of incest and possession of child pornography, sought help from a surprising source in a futile bid to get him out of jail -- Daytona Beach Police Chief Mike Chitwood.

Smith, 46, also asked his daughter to call Daytona Beach police Officer Dale Kelley for help, according to recorded telephone calls Smith made from jail to his daughter. He also asked her to contact California bounty hunter Leonard Padilla, made famous by the Casey Anthony case in Orlando.

Chitwood said in an interview this week that he did not receive a phone call from Kristilyn Smith, Smith's daughter.

"You can see why (Alton Smith) wanted to get close to law enforcement," Chitwood said. "Because he figured that would be his way of saying he's an upstanding citizen; he would never do any of these things. And in my opinion he's a scumbag and should rot in his jail for what he did."

In one phone call, Kristilyn Smith tells her father that she tried calling Chitwood but he was busy with the "Casey Anthony thing," because Caylee Anthony's grandfather was in Daytona Beach and had to be hospitalized.

In 2006, before the recent developments, Alton Smith was pointing out to police illegal drug use and prostitution in the gritty Daytona Beach neighborhood.

Chitwood is also grateful Alton Smith's involvement didn't lead to any accolades.

"Thank God we didn't give him a community award for 'all your work trying to clean up your neighborhood,' " Chitwood said.

Daytona Beach police Officer Kelley said he dealt with Alton Smith on "many, many occasions" because he was part of the neighborhood watch group and would point out problems, including prostitution.

"He would call me all the time and give me tips on who is slinging dope and who is doing what," Kelley said in a phone interview this week. "He always presented his daughter to me as his wife."

PALM COAST, Fla. -- Authorities in Flagler County have confirmed that a man who has been charged with incest is the father of his daughter's son.

Alton Smith, 46, of Palm Coast, is being held on $970,000 bond on 37 counts of possession of child pornography, two counts of incest and one count of lewd and lascivious exhibition after being arrested in January.

Flagler County sheriff's investigators announced Friday that lab results from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement have confirmed that Smith fathered the child with his daughter.

An investigation is ongoing.

Smith told investigators at the time of his arrest that he's "not the monster the news is making him out to be."

He denied taking inappropriate pictures of children and disputed reports from authorities that there are tapes of him having sex with minors.

After being on the lam for a week, Smith was taken into custody after climbing down six balconies outside of a New Smyrna Beach hotel when authorities knocked on his door.

Investigators found several hundred photos, CDs, VHS tapes and 8mm videos taken over a decade, with most showing children posed in sexual positions. Maj.
