Woman sweeping neighbor's porch charged with trespassing

MARY ESTHER -- A homeowner called the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office Dec. 20 to report that a woman wearing red rain boots, gray pants and an orange apron was sweeping her back porch.

When the homeowner asked the woman what she was doing and she left the yard in anger, knocking over a dryer located next to the yard in the front yard. She then threw her broom in the neighbor's yard.

The deputy learned that a trespass warning had been issued to the woman the day before, after she entered the same yard and took several gallons of paint.

The deputy made contact with the woman who said she was emotionally distraught and that she tried to keep her mind off troublesome issues by cleaning up the neighborhood.
