A Baptist preacher told the Pontotoc County undersheriff he did not know why he had been molesting two young boys for several months, but it might have something to do with his numerous blood pressure medications.
Kenneth Wayne Huneycutt, 60, pastor of New Hope Baptist Church in Ada, was charged this week with four counts of lewd molestation involving a 10-year-old and a 6-year-old boy, according to court documents.
Huneycutt told Undersheriff Joe Glover that the molestations began in the spring and happened at least 15 times when the 10-year-old boy would frequently spend the night at his house, and at least once when the 6-year-old stayed over.
On Dec. 11, the last admitted contact with the boys, Huneycutt told both boys not to tell anyone about the acts and to keep it “their secret,” Glover said in the probable cause affidavit. “Ken said the boys agreed not to tell anyone about it.”
But on that same day, both boys did tell, and Glover was called by a DHS worker who had been contacted by the boys’ mothers after the boys said Huneycutt touched their “private parts,” and made them touch his.
After talking with the children, Glover said he went to Huneycutt’s house and the preacher admitted to touching the boys “in a sexual way.”
