Deputies took a naked woman to the county jail for detox Sunday after she ran door to door in the dark of night, looking for someone to have sex with her.

At the scene, the responding deputy found a man in his underwear on top of the "completely naked" 32-year-old woman on the side of Mimosa Avenue. The investigation began as the two were separated.

The man propped himself up against a nearby fence, telling investigators he was "simply trying to keep his girlfriend at the house and to stop her from knocking on the neighbors' doors asking for sex," according to an incident report. He said they had been drinking alcohol and she got upset when she wanted sex and he couldn't perform.

"(She) ran out of the residence advising (him) if he could not have sex with her she would find someone who could," the deputy wrote.

So she went down Stillwell Avenue, beating on several doors throughout the neighborhood and drawing several people out of their homes until the man caught her at Mimosa and pinned her to the ground, he explained.

The deputy next interviewed the "totally nude" woman.

He ordered her into the back seat of his patrol car to keep people from seeing her, according to the report. She eventually complied - but started fighting when she overheard dispatch on the radio and wanted to escape "the voices."

Firefighters covered her with a sheet, but she was "so intoxicated she couldn't be understood," the deputy said. "Half the time, she did not know who (the man in his underwear) was and the other half (he) was trying to kill her entire family."

She kicked at the car's back windows as deputies took her into custody under the state's Marchman Act and drove her toward Fort Walton Beach.

Bridgeway Center refused to accept her, so she was taken to the Okaloosa County Jail instead.

Both the man and woman suffered only scratches in the incident.

Sheriff's deputies last week completed training in dealing with unstable subjects - including those with signs of substance abuse.

I'm slightly surprised that nobody took her up on her offer. Then again, we haven't seen a mugshot yet. Might not be surprised if we saw it.
