Girl Accused of Seeking Hit on Father

    By Aaron C. Davis
    Washington Post Staff Writer
    Friday, December 12, 2008; B01

"A 15-year-old Hagerstown girl suspected of being part of a clique of teens who liked to suck one another's blood approached a friend on a crowded high school bus in October and asked him to kill her father, prosecutors say.

Prosecutors in Washington County in Western Maryland allege that she told the friend, a male classmate, that he could find her father at 5 a.m., climbing into the work truck he parked in the alley behind their rowhouse.

And that was where, on Halloween morning, her father's body was found in a pool of blood. He had been stabbed repeatedly in the head and neck.

This week, the girl was ordered held without bond on charges of soliciting murder.

In recent court hearings, however, this has become clear: The suspect charged in the man's death was not the male classmate she is accused of soliciting for the killing but another of the girl's friends, a 19-year-old accused of confronting the father because of the belief -- unsupported, prosecutors say -- that he was abusing his daughter.

John Dunlap, assistant state's attorney for Washington County, said police and prosecutors began investigating the man's daughter and her friends because the man "had no problems with nobody."

"The only thing he had a problem with was his daughter and her group of friends," Dunlap said. They were a goth "crew, sucking each other's blood, cutting each other."

The Washington Post is not identifying the girl because she is charged as a juvenile. The father is not being identified because he and his daughter share a last name. The male classmate has not been charged.

The 19-year-old, Alec S. Eger, has been charged with first-degree murder.

Eger's public defender did not immediately return a phone call and e-mail seeking comment. The girl's attorney could not be identified last night. Because she is charged as a juvenile, her case file and attorney's name are not public. Calls to her mother's home were not immediately returned.

In court Wednesday, Dunlap said prosecutors have an independent witness on the bus who will testify about hearing the girl try to arrange the killing of her father.

The girl says on her MySpace page that she now lives with her mother: "I used 2 live with my father until he was killed on halloween of this '08." A more recent posting says: "wats gonna happen now that everything is settling down? everything is becoming clear nd i got the best ppl in the world. i luv you guys. don't stop bein u. nd don't give up on ur self or me."

Prosecutors have said the girl told the classmate on the bus that her father abused her. Dunlap said police found no evidence of abuse. He said there had also been no calls to police reporting abuse at the residence.

Prosecutors have not said whether she allegedly offered the classmate anything in exchange for the killing.

According to charging documents, Eger confessed. The documents say he told police that he was carrying two knives, one on his belt and one in his pocket, when he went to confront the man "about allegedly abusing his daughter, a friend of" Eger's."....... MORE AT LINK

hmmm i read all four books and never once made that connection.. the vampyres in the Twilight books (the main characters) are mostly 'vegetarian' ..meaning they choose only to live off the blood of animals..like bears and what have you.. this 'Goth' thing sucks ass because anyone who was goth before it was 'the new black' could tell you, that it wasn't about being a vampyre, it was about expressing yourself, in unusual ways..

    This really pisses me off..

Just because the Prosecutors say she was not abused, does NOT mean she wasn't. Of course, she can't prove it. She's a 15 year old girl, if she never reported it to anyone, then it's "unproven". Who really goes around telling people that kind of stuff?

Why'd she need to reach out to her friends so much? Did she go crazy because no one believed her?

Its not fair to assume she's lying just because the courts said so. The courts said I was lying too. But I sure as hell wasn't.

that is your experience, and i'm sorry you had to go through such a horrible experience.

when my oldest came to live with me, she'd been abused by her father. she didn't have to give details, i put her in counseling. through counseling it was discovered that the extent of his abuse was far worse than i could've ever imagined him being capable of.

if this young lady cried out for help, or why didn't someone seek respite for the girl?
there're too many stories about teens going batshit crazy and killing their parents for lame reasons, like not wanting to be grounded for a month for lying, or what have you.
who's to say this father wasn't a good father, trying to do the right thing, maybe she was troubled and her father felt helpless?
If he was abusing her, she could've done a lot of other things, instead of choosing to take a hit out on her father.

    just something to think about...

The morale of the story? If you want someone dead, you have to do it yourself.

Regardless of if she was lying about the abuse or not, people need to learn that if you kill someone, you get caught and go to jail. End of Story.

Same with the crew that killed that woman on the other thread. Excuses.
Call the police, tell a counselor, teacher, clergy or anyone till someone hears you. And for God sake, they need to quit killing people for others. In 2 years, the likelihood of still being in the same crowd and running around being BFF and even giving a rats ass about the person anymore is like 0. So they did all this for nothing.

Ok. we have a 15 year old soliciting for murder and has it carried out. Now, this bitch is being charged as a juvenile and an 11 year old who accidentally shot his brother (who lived) also being charged as a juvenile. They both end up in the same type of facility. What's wrong with this picture?

Molestation or abuse does not excuse the action of taking a life. We have to go through our legal system. Sometimes its tempting to off some horrible people, but I still think we have to go through the proper channels.

    Talking

Do you even realize how many abuse cases are thrown out of court because they don't consider a child's word as being evidence? The justice system is screwy and I wouldn't depend on it for my life.
Maybe you guys like being called a liar over and over again about something that hurts you to the core to talk about. Maybe you guys enjoy having to tell people over and over again that someone is hurting you. Maybe you guys would love to just sit and twiddle your thumbs while waiting for CPS to come rescue you. Maybe...

Nvm. I'm out because I'm actually getting upset about this.

She may have had no way out and we really will not know that for sure. If her dad was abusing her, then he deserved to die.

The only thing is, is that I agree with Pete. I would of definitely done it myself. So its done right and all.

Btw, thank you for the kind words regardless of your beliefs.
