"A British paedophile who groomed a 13-year-old girl for sex in “virtual world” has been caught after he attempted to meet her in person.

Rachata Burasite, 22, first met the Canadian girl, then aged 11, in an internet site where users adopt the identity of cartoon characters to play games in a make believe world.

It is believed to be first case where a British paedophile has stepped out of a “virtual world” and attempted to make physical contact with his victim.

The pair met on website called Gaia Online which has an estimated seven million daily visitors, most of them teenagers.

Mommy should have been paying better attention to her 11 year old. My daughter has a cell that is checked every single day. All the texts, all the phone calls. And 11 year olds believe that the cell phone company will give you a print out of their texts word for word. Jeez, shit like this wouldn't happen if parents gave a damn.

I agree - letting an 11yr old spend hours online in a virtual world? Hundreds of text messages at 13? Did the kid not have a life or did the parents have too much of a life? (that didn't include their daughter)

I don't know what it's like in the US but I see plenty of girls, 9 or 10 upwards dessed like little Lolitas, skimpy clothes, make up, dyed hair, boyfriends even. Their childhood seems to end at about 8, their mags are about boys, boybands, make up. They spend time shopping alone.
