Father tries to spank 16 y.o. daughter, gets punched

A 16-year-old Florida girl who hit her father when he tried to spank her has been charged with misdemeanor domestic battery.

An Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office report says the father told a deputy that he was attempting to spank the girl when she turned around and struck him in the face with her fist.

The report said she tried to hit him several more times before leaving with friends.

Both father and daughter said the argument started over an item that had been broken. The girl he slapped her face when she cursed at him. She acknowledged that when he went to spank her, she punched him.

A teenager is too old for that sort of punishment. As for her hitting him, I dunno. There's a lot of he said/she said and the truth might be somewhere in the middle. Here's a personal story that's long, but it relates. When I was 16, I had a severely swollen throat. I was spitting into a bucket because I couldn't swallow at all, but the doctor insisted it wasn't strep. After begging my parents for hours to take me to the hospital, my mom reluctantly agreed. My dad flew into a rage and to this day, I don't know why. He was cursing at me, belittling me for wanting to go to the hospital. I got pissed and either told him to go to Hell or said "fuck you." He grabbed my arm and it hurt. I turned, flung him around, and shoved him into a wall. Now, did I have a right to do that? I think I did. I felt threatened and he had gotten rough with me before. This situation was over going out with friends, but the girl probably felt threatened. If this guy had hit her before, I think she had a right to defend herself.
