Convicted sex offender Gary Glitter is appealing against a court order that requires him to notify police if he plans to travel abroad.
The former rock star - real name Paul Gadd - was served with the order after returning to the UK from Vietnam.
He served almost three years in prison there for sex crimes against two girls.
Glitter, 64, is not currently prevented from travelling abroad, but must inform police if he plans to be away for more than three days.
Upon his return to the UK in August, Glitter was ordered to sign the sex offenders register.
He was previously on the register for seven years, after he was jailed in the UK for four months in 1999 for possessing images of child abuse.
He is subject to monitoring and can live where he wants in the UK, but is legally bound to notify the police of his intended address.
Glitter did not appear at Harrow Crown Court, in north-west London, where an appeal date was set for 19 February.
The enraging thing is that he could've gotten the death sentence . He paid off the girl's families , a paltry amount of around $2500 I think . The public would've given them more to go ahead with all the charges . I used to love Rock and Roll part 2 , now it makes me think of disgusting paedophiles . I wish everyone would stop using his music , the fucker is still making a fortune in royalties . I heard rnrp2 on South Park last week , pity .
