we had a fire today. luckily, it was just in the equipment shed & none of the animals were hurt, but one of the cops that showed up had to help me move a couple of the horses who were in the line of smoke. we had trucks from 4 towns here, ambulances & cops. we lost a brand new tractor, all the quads, the kids dirt bike, horse trailer, all the hay & grain, all my tack & i don't even know what else. but none of the animals were hurt & there was no one else around. the scary part is that my kids were the one that found it & my oldest tried to put it out with a bucket of water from the horse trough. more guts than brains, that boy.

I am so glad that no one was hurt, and am very sorry for your loss in property. I know how much hay costs by itself, let alone the equipment you mentioned. Your son was brave, that's for sure.
