Well, the new site is up and running. As some of you already knew, crimecritics.com is focused on crime fiction in books, television and film. This is not a companion to D'D, as it is its own separate entity. It has its own forums as well (nothing like this one, it is about as lightweight as forums go, but it is functional). There are two camps of crime fans, and sometimes a lover of one genre (true crime) may not be a lover of the other (crime fiction) and vice-versa.

The cool thing is that a lot of the content you will see on the site will be coming from other crime bloggers. This is not MY site, as much as it is a collaborative effort with other crime bloggers who also enjoy the fake shit as well. The staff and contributor section for that site will probably end up being mighty long.

But if you like thrillers, mystery, CSI, Dexter, or any aspect of the crime fiction genre. Stop by, sign up and help us test the site out. Right now, we are just adding content and we are not officially open...but we need to start testing server load (heh) and seeing if there are any areas that need to be fixed. There is a Myspace page as well as a Youtube channel and a Twitter (not currently used), so if you get into any of that, hit us up.

We are looking for help, mostly in way of content providers. Check out the Contribute link at the site for more info on that. This will not be a news site for now, but more for reviews, recaps of television episodes and release dates. Maybe later we can start doing news if we can get the help, but for now we are going to focus on the other content. This will also ensure that, for me, Imp and swivel, that are attentions are not taken completely away from our true love...D'D.

The crimecritics forum uses the same login credentials as the main crimecritics site, so no need for two separate registrations. Sign up for one, and you have automatically signed up for the other. The forum, and site in general, is probably best described as PG-13. Keep it clean and all that. We will be keeping a crimecritics forum active here for those of you who prefer your conversations uncensored and utterly filthy.

Hope to see you over there some time, but if not...well, we'll just see you here.

I don't think I ever got mine either Imp..I'm not really sure bcs I was up late that night.

Would it have mattered that I registered the night before Morbid posted this cool note bcs I caught sight of the stuff being added to the forums here and wandered over there?

Sweet. We are still tweaking the site a bit, so if you see any weird layout issues, it is just me trying to put the finishing touches on things. Again, aside from commenting, if you would like to submit a review to be posted, simply email it to us and if we like it we will get it on the front page.

As do I. Unfortunately, advertisers do not. Still, it's not the comments we are worried about, just our actual stories and overall vibe. It's not like it will be all Disney and stuff, especially considering the subject matter.

Couldn't tell you, honestly. The site is about as bare bones (in regards to plugins and such.)

We have enabled the SezWho plugin on Crimecritics.com. If it works well, we may enable it on D'D as well. SezWho allows people to rate both posts AND comments. These results are shown on the posts and comments, and can be displayed in various ways sort of like the rep\rating system used here in the forums.

You do not have to have an account with SezWho, but if you have one, you icon and stats will be displayed.

To rate a post or comment, simply click the star icons at the bottom of each post or comment.

Again, if everyone likes it, we will turn it on here as well.

For whatever reason, after I posted my JCVD review, the site got hammered and fucking DIED. In the process of fixing the issue, we are getting a much needed memory upgrade, as well as a bigger, faster VS package that is costing only 5 dollars more than what we were paying.

Read the review. Or watch the film if you can. they guy can actually act. I mean, not Oscar caliber or anything, but nowhere near the level of crap you are used to seeing.

I'm looking forward to it. Bloodsport is one of my all time favorite flicks.

PS..I don't watch JCVD flicks for the acting anyway.
