Alright, ladies (and, perhaps eventually gents), let's revel in our debaucherous hedonism, shall we?

    I don't care if it's a new find, a recipe, a story... I wanna hear it.

...and, remember, a proper mojito is made with soda water and sugar, NOT Sprite or 7up.

Raspberry Stoli and fresh Lemonade is the bomb fucking diggity!! Add soda water to cut the sweetness a bit. Whooooot!!! A poolside pleaser everytime!

I had this awesome transvestite friend who gave me a glass of something that he called "redneck wine" and the recipe is pretty simple....

Super cheap vodka (he used crystal palace, it's about $10 a bottle) and sweet tea, it's a cheap and an easy drink to make. It's absolutely disgusting but, it gets the job done !

Oh, and boxed wine keeps longer than bottled.....

Who keeps wine long enough to worry how long it keeps?? I'm so fucking Martha Stewart that I put the rest of the bottle (in the rare case that I don't finish the bottle) in ice trays and use it when I cook. No box wine for me! The bigger it comes, the more I drink. Buying bottles keeps me from being a blithering drunk.

Well, recently I am partial to tiger tail shots...the greatest thing for a professional-to-be to drink and never get a hangover, yet still become...viciously inebriated. Take licorice-flavoured (anise) anything, preferably Ouzo, Sambuca, Pastis, and take two shots of it. Then take a shot of orange pop (it has to be a shot, 1/3 of the 'drink'). All-in-all, you're taking three shots, but you can put it into a cup if you're a total loser.

BTW - the cheaper the wine, the more likely I will misplace my panties. My husband knows this. He has been bringing me $1.99 Big Kahuna from the Fresh and Easy store. Is he trying to tell me something?

"The HRM" Vodka, splash (SPLASH) of tonic and 3 lime wedges squeezed in. Mmmmmm....

Sure you could call that a vodka tonic, but it is the "splash" that makes the difference here.

The raspberry stoli is a GREAT idea! I just made a jug of lemonaid using Country Time mix, standard vodka, Mike's Hard Lemonaid and triple sec this last weekend. I'm totally trying the raspberry, next time!

Athena, you have to use fresh lemonade for it to be AMAZING!! If you don't want to squeeze it - go to TJ's and grab their brand. I keep it in the firdge for when I need some "me" time by the pool. Also, Pear Stoli and tonic is the shizzzzz.
  14. Athena
    Athena
    I like your style, HRM.

I can't get down with anything licorice-flavored. Blech. And, Sambuca? Last time I had Sambuca, it was a layered shot - a Freddy Krueger. A layer of red Sambuca, absinthe and vodka. It, too, was gross.

Ya - It's not heated so it's only handy in the summer. Beats hauling my cookies all the way to the beach just to hear my kid bitch when it's time to leave and sand in my crack.

15 minutes before I'm off work. My only mission - to pick up smokes and wine before heading home. But I'm not sure that I want to standard Chuck sauvignon blanc.

    Any suggestions?

Mike said he picked up like, 4lbs of strawberries (that guy, he's such a woman, buying anything that's on sale regardless of whether or not we'll actually USE it). I wonder if Bacardi O comes in a pint size? If so, some of that with some pineapple juice and fresh strawberries sliced into it would be lovely...

Lots of people might not like the sweet drinks, but my favourite things to get are chocolate almond ice cream, dark cocoa liqueur, captain morgans coconut rum, banana liqueur, maybe some amaretto or kahlua and a gallon of milk, ..whether I only use a couple or all of them, they make the best damn alcoholic milkshakes in the world!! oh and Apfelkorn is really good too by itself,..my German friend said that's wino liquor there, but I love it.

    *ahem*

My name is Gidget and I prefer a $3 bottle of Arbor Mist over a $30 bottle of that fancy shit any day of the week. Not only does it come with a convenient screw top cap, it tastes so bad to begin with that you don't notice when it goes rancid from being left too long in the fridge.

I also like Jagermeister shots watered down with Red Bull. They taste like grape Dimetapp and they make me feel all warm and fuzzy.

Jomo - You could make make me lose my panties without cheap wine. *swoon*

Athena - Vodka, Pineapple / orange / banana juice, and sliced strawberries. Dayum! Now your talkin'!

Why is it that all of you rocking people live so far from me. I needs me a happy hour buddy.

I cant get down any of those sweet drinks you gals are making or any licorice Nyquil tasting stuff!!

    For me...its seagrams 7 & 7up or sailor jerry's spiced rum & coke, yum.

Now, I like my wine as well, not really very picky usually stay about in the $10-12 price range. UNLESS i am pissed at my hubby, he knows that if i come home with a bottle of screw top wine I am pissed at him for something. Rinute Lambrusco to be exact!

April- I'll see your *swoon* and raise you a *wink*, lmao.

Gidget- Arbor Mist is some pretty good hooch ! When I was about 17-19 y/o I would drink my Arbor Mist in a fancy schmancy $3 wine glass that I got from Wal-Mart and walk around like I was so much more sophisticated than my friends that were chugging Milwaukee's Best, LMAO !

Okay - I'm switching it up here. BEER!! Double Bastard to be exact. Kinda spendy and you can only get it in single 22 oz bottles (Never mind that you can only get it during the holidays) but it fucking ROCKS!!

Now back to 7 & 7 - hells yeah, baby!! Mmmmmm and Jack (Daniels) and Ginger. But only if I feel like fighting. My hubby has banned me from Captain Morgan and Jack Daniels. He says I turn into Evil April. WTF??

Morning! So, when I discovered that Bacardi O was not offered by the pint at the local liquor store, I sauntered down to TJ's and bought some peach-flavored sparkling wine. I drank it on the rocks with strawberries cut up into it. Good shit, man, good shit.

Beer? I've decided to only drink beer that contributes to my own bottom line. My company runs the packaging for Widmer, Redhook and Pyramid breweries, so I've got quite the selection to choose from. My favorite is Redhook's Longhammer IPA, at 6.5%abv.
  26. April
    April
My hubby loves Widmer. Me? Not so much. I like Longhammer though. I'm an IPA kinda gal. You must try the Double Bastard when it hits the shelves again. abv is like 8 or 9%. One of the highest I've found.

I am all over the peach wine and straberry thing. Tomorrow looks like a pool day and I will be the one chlling with the fancy wine.

Athena, I am starting to think you are a lady I could party with!

Athena you are SUCH a lush! LOL!

But who am I to judge...I bought 1L Strawberry Pineapple Vex, in which I will be putting sour keys in tonight! Woo!

    Athena
April, I do believe we may be kindred, lushy souls. If you ever want to vacation, I've got a very accommodating guest room, throw BBQs at LEAST once a week during the summer, and I live on a lake, so you won't be TOO lost without your pool.

Broken - What's "Strawberry Pineapple Vex"? Or "sour keys" for that matter?

It's times like these that remind me that, despite the geography, you Canucks are more like Brits than I care to believe.
  29. brokenandtwisted
    brokenandtwisted
Silly...you put those little candies we all had when we were kids, sour keys, into the alcohol. You then eat them! Sucking on them works too, if you have the taste buds. I, unfortunately, do not...but it's still a delicacy!

Vex is a hard lemonade, similar to Mike's Hard Lemonade. You're relatively close to Canada, so you could probably find it in a store around there. The strawberry pineapple is the best, close second to the kiwi mango. You dip/soak the sour key candies in Vex.

    It's amazing.

Were do you live, Athena? I'm in for a vaca on a lake! Woot!! Sign me up. We are headed for Maui in August. Just a jump across the pond. Now if someone would post a Lavaflow recipe, I would be in heaven. Nothing gets your geared up for Hawaii like drinking lavaflows. Now if I could throw on some good tunes and chill with you lakeside pre-Maui - I'd be in happier than pigs in shit.

    *hugs*

    New recipe!

The boyfriend, a committed vodka drinker, has been making a delightful vodka lemonaid for these hot summer days. We call it "Mike's Harder".

    (1) 2qt. pitcher
    (1) Fifth of your favorite vodka (because it's mixed, you can go cheap)
    (1) Pint of Triple Sec
    (1) 6pk of Mike's hard lemonaid
    (1) bag of ice
    (1) Container of Country Time powder

Okay - Fill the pitcher about 1/4 to 1/3 full of ice. Add half a fifth of the vodka, a healthy splash of Triple Sec, 2 bottles of the Mike's Hard lemonaid and 2 scoops Country Time powder. Depending on how strong or weak you like the lemonaid flavor to be, you can use water to dilute it just a bit.

It's refreshing, delightful, high-octane and flexible. AND it can be made pink! (Both Mike's Hard and Country Time offer pink versions of their products.)

    Cheers!

Man, I'm a lightweight. You were right Athena. 5 glasses just won't cut it eh :D Like April, I'd lose my panties but unlike April, I'd also lose my cookies....and that ain't pretty. I love booze, wine, vodka (only on the rocks, I'm not into sweet), bourbon, scotch..I love the flavor of alcohol but getting older it doesn't love me as much. I'm a very small person, maybe I shouldn't try to drink my body weight in booze. Whaddya think? Heh heh heh. I love this.

White liquor of your choice, vodka is most common
    Tomato juice
1\2 of 8 oz. bottle clam juice
    8 tsp.celery salt
    6 tsp. table salt
tabasco to taste ( about 20 good shakes for me but I like it spicy)
    8 tsp. pepper
    3 tsp. garlic powder
    4 tbsp. worcestershire sauce
1\4 cup olive juice if ya like em dirty .
I like to make Bloody Marys by the pitcher.
I use 1\3 bottle vodka ,sprinkle in 3 tsp.garlic powder add the whole can or 3\4 bottle of v8 spicy tomato juice (any kind will do),shake , add 1\4 cup olive juice,(I like em dirty and most people who don't like olives do too so take a second job bartender of 15 yrs. advice and try it) , strain clam juice and add along with a healthy dose of tabasco to taste and 4 tbsp. worcestershire sauce.
Mix salt ,pepper and celery salt and place in bowl with a spoon . Scoop this into the shaker and add before you add the tomato juice mixadd ice AFTER you shake and reshake well pour strained off ice into glass and garnish.

Ladies and gentlemen, may I present to you: White merlot.

    Yeah, I know.

It's cheap, it's in the grocery store, it smells fruity, fizzes when you pour it, and tastes faintly of cinnamon apples.

    MMmmm ghetto wine. *hic*

OM! New recipie and just discovered!
We were half assed and decided no one should drive and it all tastes bearable after a point right?
The next day I got a call and today (one week later) I remixed and it is fantastic.
Use country time yellow lemonade (pink is NOT good!!).
Mix a 2 liter batch and put it in the fridge for a week. Maybe less but I keep it always mixed in a sprite bottle in the door.
Okay the steps are important.. Mix five ounces of whiskey (I used crown but my girls say rot gut works well and 6 ounces of grapefruit juice. Shake well with 2 ice cubes.
In your drinking cup (big gulp size,32 oz???) mix: 1/3 big gulp cup of the countrytime with 1/3 sweet tea (here it's 4 tea bags to 1 gallon pitcher with 1/2 cup sugar).
Add the liquor mix and stir.
I grow fresh mint in my gardens so I pulp some in a mortar bowl and add it too but the others aren't gardners so they do not.
It's like a bite with a long island for two that will get you trashed quick and taste good. I added fresh juice from the lemon grass in my herb garden as well and it is soooo good, I really have to get my garden blog up so people see how easy it is. DO NOT use dried herbs as it is not the same.

man, i think ive fallen in love!!! i thought i was an alchy, and all the time there was a group of lushes right here! finally people who will hoo rah at my 3 beers and a bottle of wine instead of tell me i need to stop!! my mouth is watering from all the new concoctions ive read about on here. i guess i can throw in a cheap but delicous sweet drink...i call it a teeny bikini...had some before i named it...i half fill with ice then one shot of vodka fill with a sparkling soda i use blueberry watermellon but the brand excapes me then i top with midori or if the store im at doesnt carry it ill go ahead and grab a bottle of melon ball boonzfarm, ive had to use numerous different types of sparkling sodas so it doesnt really matter what type there all good, just no vitamin water!!!! and after the first drink you punch up the vodka i add 3 shots to the next drink and then lose count after the fourth. (and the midori a little bit, but not to much with the midori just cuz it gets really really sweet, yuck) Happy drinking.
