NEW YORK - DJ AM, a Philadelphia native and sought-after disc jockey who became a celebrity in his own right with a glamorous lifestyle, was found dead yesterday at his apartment, which had drug paraphernalia in it, a law enforcement official said. There was no evidence of foul play.

    Adam's last Tweet :

"New york, new york. Big city of dreams, but everything in new york aint always what it seems."

TMZ.com has a source saying that Adam was 'devastated' over Hayley Wood recently dumping him. Combined with the post traumatic stress disorder that he suffered from the plane crash that occurred with friend Travis Barker, the source believes he may have started using drugs again after being clean for nine years due to the amount of stress from those incidents.

He was just 36 years old.

It seems that Adam is no stranger to suicide, if that is indeed what happened.

At 24-years-old, Adam Goldstein was miserable due to the fact that he was overweight and addicted to crack cocaine. At this point in his life, he felt like it was over. Going into his living room, he grabbed a loaded .22, cocked it, and put it into his mouth. He then pulled the trigger.

He describes his suicide attempt and failure with it, at People.com which was published in January 2008. He also talked about going into recovery and starting a workout routine, but relapsing after a breakup.

"At any given moment, I'm five seconds away from walking up to someone, grabbing their drink out of their hand and downing it. And if I do that, within a week, tops, I’ll be smoking crack."

He tried to kill himself with a 22? He didn't really want to die. That's one of those "maybe someone will love me enough to rescue me" borderline personality disorder suicide fails.

    Accidental overdose.

Wow, for him to go through all that with the plane accident, maybe that was really his time to go, and this extra time on earth was gravy. I don't know if that will make it easier for his friends, family and fans to realize how unhappy he was, if he started using again, than to have lost him in the plane crash. It seems like such a waste IMO but I hope he RIP.
