The rescue of three Cleveland, OH women missing for about a decade has prompted a new lead in the disappearance of a Middle Georgia girl who vanished nearly 15 years ago.

Shy'Kemmia "Shy Shy" Pate was near her home in Unadilla, GA when she disappeared in September 1998.

"I keep hope and faith," said her mother Veronica Pate. "I never stop believing."

Investigators said they received a phone call Tuesday from a woman in Ohio who said her stepfather, a convicted sex offender, was in Georgia when the second grader disappeared.

"Regardless of how small an individual may think a piece of information is, it may be that crucial piece of information we need as investigators to start tying things together," said Special Agent Ben Collins, of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.

Collins has worked on the case from day one along with Investigator Randy Lamberth of the Dooly County Sheriff's Office.

"We have kids of our own," Lamberth said. "It could have been any of them that went missing."

Investigators said while they consider Shy Shy Pate's disappearance a cold case, they vow to check out any new lead that comes in.

YPSILANTI, Mich. -
Ypsilanti police are investigating the abduction of a 25-year-old mother.

Police said surveillance video shows Farrah Nicole Cook being forcibly put into a dark blue or black Pontiac Bonneville Monday at about 5:45 a.m. in the 500 block of Hamilton Street.
Cook's mother lives next door to her daughter and heard a scream.

"As a concerned parent, she called my daughter. She got no answer so she went over there to find out she had already gone to work. She tried to call her phone and no answer. She called her job and no show," Samuel Cook said.

Farrah Cook is a mother of three -- 4 year old twins and a 3-year-old.The children are safe and are with other family members.

The family said they identified Cook's ex-boyfriend, 27-year-old Jeremy Abston, off the surveillance video that was captured at the apartment complex where Cook lives.

Police are looking for Abston. They said he should be considered armed and dangerous. His last known address was in Ann Arbor.

Police said Abston has domestic violence incidents on file, but have not said whether they involved Cook.

Police said they are also looking for two other people who could have been accomplices, but have not released any further information on them.

The Bonneville in the case, thought to be between the 2000 and 2006 model years, is missing a rear hubcap and has some rust.

Ypsilanti police chief Amy Walker says officers arrived on scene shortly afterwards and spoke with Cook's family and co-workers. Walker says Cook was reported missing after she failed to show up for work.

Police are now searching for Jeremy Abston, 27, in order to question him about her disappearance. Police say Abston should be considered armed and dangerous.

Police say a dark blue or black Pontiac Bonneville made in the early 2000s with a spare tire on the rear passenger side was used in the abduction.

Family members tell FOX 2 Abston and Cook share a history and she recently requested a personal protection order against him.

Police are looking for an 83-year-old woman who has been missing since Friday afternoon, when she disappeared from Reagan National Airport.

MWAA Police say that Victoria Kong was last seen on an airport camera at approximately 6:30 p.m. Friday walking north on the Mount Vernon Trail toward Gravelly Point.

Kong, who is originally from Barbados, lives in Montgomery County. She had returned from an extended trip there Friday and had arrived at National Airport on an American Airlines flight from Miami.

Her family said she suffers from short-term memory loss.

Kong's daughter, Joy Anderson, told News4 in an email that the family had paid for a wheelchair assistant to escort her mother to baggage claim, but she never arrived.

"We were assured that she was in a wheelchair, on her way to us at baggage claim," said Alexandria Anderson, Kong's granddaughter. "We were there waiting for her. We arrived before the flight landed."

According to surveillence video, Kong walked out of the terminal at 4:12 p.m. She talked to some cab drivers but didn't get into a cab. Two and a half hours later, another camera showed Kong walking north on the Mount Vernon Trail toward Gravelly Point.

Officials say search dogs tracked a scent at Roosevelt Island Sunday afternoon. Crews were preparing to resume their search early Monday as soon as there was enough daylight.

Kong was last seen wearing a long purple-and-brown floral dress and sandals. She was carrying a tan sweater or jacket and a black purse. Kong is 5' 3" with brown eyes and short black hair. She speaks fluent English, her family said.

"We're going the best we can. We're hopeful that she's still well, and she's with people and she's being taken care of," Alexandria Anderson said. "We just need you guys to help us found her."

"She is scantly dressed, has no money, has no contact numbers on her," Anderson wrote in an email to News4. "By this time she would be tired, hungry and totally disoriented."

"She may look confused...and disoriented...and weak...," said Kong's granddaughter, Alexandria Anderson, adding that the 83-year-old is showing early signs of dementia.

Kalisse Anderson, Kong's granddaughter, said, "We have been up and down the trails on G.W...in and out of the airport. We have talked to taxi dispatchers...airport employees...taxi drivers standing in line, joggers and bikers...'Have you seen our grandmother?'"

So far, there's been no sign of her, but her family isn't giving up hope.

"We are still prayerful...we are still holding the faith....we love her so much and we just want her to be with us," Kalisse said.

Police, friends and family members will continue a search Friday morning for Mandy Matula, who was last seen with David Marshall Roe, who shot himself in the head Thursday outside Eden Prairie police headquarters after being summoned to talk to a detective.

Roe was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center, where information on his condition was not being released Thursday night.

Radio traffic from police scanners early Thursday afternoon said law enforcement vehicles followed Roe, who was alone in his SUV, to the police station parking lot about 1:30 p.m. Officers then stayed back, shutting down the parking lot from other traffic as they watched him and realized he had a handgun. A few minutes later he shot himself.

In the past week, Matula, of Eden Prairie, had told her family and friends that she was breaking off a relationship with Roe. Both are 24 and graduated in 2007 from Eden Prairie High School, where they were standout athletes.

The missing woman’s father, Wayne Matula, confirmed Thursday night that his daughter was breaking up with Roe. Wayne Matula said that police investigators were at the family’s Eden Prairie home and had asked that the family not talk with reporters about the case.

Mandy Matula and Roe were last seen about 1:30 a.m. Thursday at Miller Park in Eden Prairie, where searchers looked for her later in the day. The Hennepin County Water Patrol also initially said they were searching nearby Mitchell Lake but changed that location shortly after 8 p.m. to Round Lake in Eden Prairie, which is in another park near Valley View and Eden Prairie Roads, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Matula’s parents first reported her missing at 8:30 a.m. Thursday when she didn’t show up for her seasonal job as a city maintenance worker in Eden Prairie, according to police and a family friend. Her family last saw her about 11 p.m. Wednesday.

Matula and Roe were believed to have been traveling in his 2013 black Ford Escape with Minnesota license 802-KNA when they were at the park. Police are asking anyone with information to call Eden Prairie police at 952-949-6200.

Police said once they identified Roe as a “person of interest” in Matula’s disappearance, he had agreed to speak with an investigator.

After Roe arrived at the police station parking lot and officers realized he had a gun, they asked that rifles be brought to the scene.

Roe, who stayed seated in his SUV, put a piece of paper in his vehicle window. Katie Bengston, a police spokeswoman, said no information was being released about the paper, including whether he had written on it.

He then used both hands to hold a handgun under his chin and fired, according to scanner reports. Officers immediately called an ambulance.

Matula is the third woman to disappear under suspicious circumstances in the metro area since December. Danielle Jelinek, 28, of Oakdale, was reported missing on Dec. 9. She was last seen at the home of a man in Chisago County with whom she had a sporadic relationship. Kira Trevino, 30, was last seen on Feb. 21. Her husband, Jeffery Trevino, is charged with second-degree murder in her disappearance. Searches continue for all three women.

Both Roe and Matula had excelled in team sports when they attended Eden Prairie High School.
Matula was a standout fast-pitch softball pitcher, and she later graduated from University of Minnesota Duluth, where she pitched for the Bulldogs.

Roe was all-conference in football and played on a state championship team. He attended the University of St. Thomas for some time, where he played football. He also played basketball in high school.

Matula has worked as a seasonal maintenance worker for the city of Eden Prairie for more than six years, and she also worked at a family recreation center in Eden Prairie, Brunswick Zone XL. Martin Larson, general manager for Brunswick Zone, declined to comment Thursday.

Mandy Matula, a 24-year-old Eden Prairie resident, was last seen early Thursday morning with her boyfriend, David Roe. But Matula's family members say the relationship was on its last legs -- she was planning to break up with him.
Around 8 a.m. yesterday, Matula didn't show up for work, and she was reported missing. Hours later, Roe shot himself in the head outside Eden Prairie police headquarters. Matula remains missing as this is published.

Both Matula and Roe were accomplished high school athletes who graduated in 2007 from Eden Prairie High School, the Star Tribune reports. Matula was last seen by her family around 11 p.m. Wednesday, and the two were spotted a couple of hours later at Miller Park in Eden Prairie. They drove there in Roe's 2013 black Ford Escape with Minnesota license 802-KNA.

When Matula didn't show up for her seasonal job as a city maintenance worker in Eden Prairie, Roe was quickly identified as a "person of interest" in her disappearance. Authorities asked him to come to police headquarters to talk with them and actually followed him during his early-afternoon trip to the station. Once there, officers realized he had a handgun and put headquarters on lockdown. He put a piece of paper against his SUV window -- it isn't clear what, if anything, was written on it -- then put the gun under his chin and pulled the trigger while he was still inside the vehicle. He survived and was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center, and his condition is unknown.

KSTP spoke with Matula's father, who confirmed his daughter and Roe dated. Matula's father said she wanted to break up with Roe but he didn't want the relationship to end.

Matula is the third metro area woman to disappear in the past six months with a boyfriend or husband emerging as a prime suspect. The first was Danielle Jelinek, who was last seen with her on-again, off-again boyfriend, Aaron Schnagl, in December. The second was St. Paul resident Kira Trevino, whose husband has been charged with murder in connection with her February disappearance.

CBS) DENVER - A family in Colorado is issuing a public outcry for help in finding their missing daughter, Kelsie Shelling. According to CBS Denver, the 22-year-old pregnant woman disappeared in February.

Schelling was reportedly last seen on Feb. 4 in Pueblo, Colo, having traveled from Denver to see her boyfriend, Donthe Lucas, to tell him she was eight weeks pregnant with his child.

In a press conference on Monday morning, April 29, family members said Schelling's bank account has been accessed and messages had been sent from her cell phone. They reportedly also said that her vehicle, a black Chevy Cruz, was seen on surveillance video in a Pueblo hospital parking lot three days after she disappeared. Schelling was not seen on the video, reports CBS Denver.

The family reportedly said Lucas refuses to speak with authorities. The family is also not satisfied with his "oginial account of the events leading up to Kelsie's disappearance."

During the press conference, Laura Saxton, Schelling's mother, said, "We love and miss Kelsie so much and are more deeply saddened to know that whatever happened to her that night also involved her unborn child -- my first grandchild -- as well. We are doing everything in our power to find our missing loved one and would expect anyone involved to do the same."

Meanwhile, CBS Denveralso reported that Lucas refused to speak to the station. Police won't comment on his involvement in the case. Documents regarding him have reportedly been sealed by the courts.


Lucas' mother told the station her son was arrested for identity theft for using Schelling's credit card but that the charges have been dropped. The woman reportedly also said her home and car were searched by authorities.

Schelling's family has set up a website called HelpFindKelsie.com and are reportedly offering a $10,000 reward for any information that leads to an arrest.

PUEBLO, Colo. -
The boyfriend of a missing Denver woman last seen in Pueblo insists he's not Kelsie Schelling's boyfriend. He says he never even dated her.

Schelling's family says he is, and that she was pregnant with his child when she went missing. Schelling's family says their 22-year-old daughter drove to Pueblo the night she disappeared to meet up with her boyfriend, Donthe Lucas. The family says the trip came hours after Schelling met with a doctor about her pregnancy. Her family says she didn't run away.

Schelling's family says Kelsie was eight weeks pregnant when she disappeared the night of Feb. 4.

"We all love and miss Kelsie so much and are more deeply saddened to know that whatever happened to her that night also involved her unborn child, my first grandchild as well," said Laura Saxton, Kelsie's mom.

KRDO-TV called Donthe Lucas, the man Schelling's family says she had come to meet in Pueblo. Lucas said he wanted to speak to the media, but he said his lawyer had advised him not to. When KRDO-TV asked to speak to his lawyer, Lucas said, "I'd rather just have my name stay out of the media altogether."

When KRDO-TV asked again what Lucas' relations were with Schelling, he said, "I'm not gonna answer your questions so at this time. I'm gonna hang up again." Lucas proceeded to hang up the phone.

Lucas says he met Schelling his first year of college, in the fall of 2011. He says they were friends, but they never dated. Lucas would not answer whether he was the father of Schelling's child.

Michigan police investigating the mysterious disappearance of a mother who works at a gas station are now calling it an abduction case, while her family is pleading for her return.

Jessica Heeringa, 25, vanished Friday night around 11:15 p.m. during her late shift at the ExxonMobil gas station in Muskegon. Her purse, belongings and vehicle were left behind, and police were notified after a customer called 911 and said no employees were at the station, Fox 17 reports.

“She’s a good mom. She loves her family…she wouldn’t just leave,” April Dyer, Heeringa’s future sister-in-law, told the station.
