Holy Kidney Stones, Batman!

For those of you who may have noticed, I took an especially long weekend. Unlike recent weekends, however, it wasn't because of anything even the slightest bit cool.
I developed a pretty unbearable pain in my right side, toward my lower back, last Thursday. Feeling like an organ was going to explode, I left work in a hurry. Upon arriving home, the pain only got worse, but by then, I had myself convinced that it was a kidney stone and there was nothing I could do but medicate myself. Medication that night came in the form of a bottle of wine.
The next morning, I went to my doctor's office. After hours of testing (catscans are icky), it was determined that I had an infection, not a stone. They prescribed me some antibiotics and sent me on my way.
I felt better over the weekend, but, come Monday, I felt worse again, so I took the day off. I thought this curious, considering that I was three days through a 7-day course of antibiotics. It all came together, however, when I got a call from my rockstar doc around 3:00, stating that they continued to run tests on my sample, and the bacterial strain that caused the infection was completely immune to the antibiotics I was on. Well, that explained my condition. I didn't feel as guilty for taking the day off.
That being said, my weekend wasn't complete suckage. I crawled out of the house Saturday night to go watch the UFC fights that night. Man, Silva is a savage. I also entertained some lovely guests from back east on Sunday. There was lots of wine drinking had by all.
It's nice to be back to work, though. I was getting anxious. :)
