For every asshole Soldier that makes the news...

There will be hundreds that don't. Today I got to witness something that I have never seen in my nearly 28 years on Earth.
It was a normal morning commute, except I was running a little late and wasn't sure if I would have time to make it to Starbucks. There's this intersection right after you enter the gate, where the lights are in the flashing yellow/red mode until 0900. Many wrecks have happened in that intersection. The main road has 4 lanes, and 3 turn lanes. It goes from the gate all the way down to the west side of Ft. Bragg. The cross road goes from one housing area, in front of the daycare, commissary, and PX, to another housing area. It has one turn lane for each side. (Just trying to paint the scene, lol)
I was talking to my mom on my hands-free, waiting in line for turn to make the left turn to go to daycare, when this SUV gets t-boned and starts rolling across the intersection. I'm telling mom I'm calling her later, throwing the truck in park, and jumping out to see if I can help. As I'm running across to where it's come to rest on its side, EVERY SINGLE OTHER CAR is stopped and soldiers are getting out. One calls out that he's dialing 911, others are trying to talk to the woman who was driving, and some are climbing in the back window to check on the boy in the back seat. They get the car shut off, we get the boy and the mother to safety, one climbs in to get her purse.
I was just amazed as I thought about this later. I've seen worse wrecks where most people have just driven by. Not saying that all civilians are uncaring, but this entire road was shut down because of all the unattended cars of soldiers that were trying to help. It bothers me when people paint soldiers as murderous, raping, pillaging, spouse-abusing assholes.
