the humane society called on Christmas eve and asked if I would take 2 kittens til the new year. the center will be closed lots of days over the holidays and the babies need some lovin – and some medicine. duh. of course I would.

the tabby is a tiny 6 weeks old and his name was Alvin, but my co-workers called him Malvin – which is funny to me bc I have a friend I call same. he has 6 fingers on each paw – polydactyl. (the cat, not the friend) he is tiny with a tiny head. he likes to cuddle and he likes the big heat grates on the floor. he tries to spread his lil body out to cover the whole grate. and then looks at me with love like I put it there for him. I tell him he is welcome.

his brother is pure white with blue eyes. not polydactyl but has really big thumbs like that girl in that Tom Robbins book. his hair is really thick and course. it will be interesting to see how it turns out when he grows. he is sick and I give him meds. he sneezes all the time. his name is Archie but my co-workers called him Cocaine. My friend said he had a white cat and his sister called it Crystal. I said that makes sense, those 2 get mixed up all the time. I call him Lil Whiteboy.

they are bitey with each other. haven’t learned safe play yet but are learning it now – no scrotum or eye biting mainly. they loooove to cuddle each other. when I pick them up off of my bed and bring them back to their “condo” they are like those two huggy monkeys that you win at the fair. all sleepy and huggy with each other.

I give them evaporated milk sometimes and then I am their bff in the whole world. its ok to give cats evap milk from time to time. then they cuddle up with me and sleep and purr.
