I'm going to regret this.

But seeing as I can't seem to respond on my own blog anyway, I can just ignore anyone I manage to piss off.
In the name of full-disclosure I will note I am atheist. What I am about to write is personal to me, and I don't mean to undermine what anyone else thinks or feels. It's not that I'm necessarily afraid of offending anyone, it's just that it's not my intention. This time. I also don't know why I feel the need to explain this. On with the show.
I have been told that the bible is the unerring word of God. I have also been told that God is omnipotent, perfect and created everything.
If all of nature is God's direct creation; in that it was formed directly by his hand with no middle man, why on earth would I take what the bible says over what I am able to discern by my own God-given intellect from nature and life itself?
Shouldn't that which was made by him alone be more trustworthy than that which was given to us through other human beings, particularly given the belief that ALL humans are inherently flawed. Isn't trusting man to better convey the word and mind of God better than God's own creation rather arrogant sacrilege?
Anyone can say that God told them something. And anyone can re-write it to their own ends.
