Baking in the sun

In New Jersey, I always enjoyed being outside. Jakob is very active and to keep him from destroying our home, we often find child friendly areas for him to play. In the summertime, his most favorite place to be is the beach. We would spend all day on the beach, it was always cool and breezy up there and I had never really worried about the sun as I was quite used to being out there all day and not getting burned. I always made sure to lather Jakob up though with a high dosage of SPF as he is pretty fair skinned and used to have some red in his hair, like my sister, and she gets sunburn on top of sunburn every summer.
When we arrived in Florida (drove through Orlando when all the Casey/Caylee drama was going on btw, wish I would've known!! I would've gladly "talked" to Casey and solved this fucking mess before it began), we were anxious to get into our pool and try it out.
As we were pulling up to the house though, we noticed that the grass was like 3 foot high and the pool was a forest green color. I was pretty ticked about this as our contract clearly states that the landlord pays for the pool lady and the lawn care. We sorted this out weeks ago and it was supposed to be taken care of before our arrival - we even arrived two days late.
Needless to say, I wasn't going to take my chances in any local lakes with all the alligators so we sat in the house waiting for cable/internet and to be given the okay to enter the pool. After 4 days, the pool was crystal clear and the lady said we could finally go in. Everyone was excited and my sister and brother could barely sleep at the thought of swimming the next morning.
Stacey, my sister, was the first one up. She even slept in her bathing suit so that she wouldn't have to worry about anything getting into her way during pool time. My brother and I had made breakfast and decided to wait until everyone else was up before we went in.
After Jakob had his breakfast we all headed out to the pool around 11am. It was nice, pretty cloudy but I still made sure to put Jakob's SPF 50 on. My uncle was adamant about using it insisting that Florida was so much worse then Jersey.
I offered some to my sister but she insisted that she had found some in the bathroom downstairs. I decided to go check it out as I didn't want to use Jakob's all up on everybody. I noticed that the woman who owns this place only uses SPF 6 and SPF 8. Now, I was never one to realllly pay attention to any of that but I knew that wasn't really adequate protection. I thought about it for a bit and figured that it was better then nothing (like I was used to in Jersey) and if she used it, how bad could it be?
So Robert, Stacey, Matt and myself decided to use that and reapply like every hour to make sure we didn't get burned. Ha! We were so caught up in our games and playing that we lost track of time. A lot of time. I stepped out of the pool around 1pm due to a phone call and couldn't believe we were in the pool that long. We decided to BBQ for lunch and while I was standing out there grillin', I began to feel just how hot my face was. I knew it must have been burning but I hadn't realized it while I was in the pool. I went and reapplied some sunscreen and did for everyone else as well, and then went back to being outside but the more I was standing there, the more concerned I was. I am a total baby when it comes to sunburn.
After lunch I went back in the pool but I wasn't too sure about being outside. I decided to get out for a bit and check out the damage to my face but as I began to get out, everyone started calling me a chicken and they told me I wasn't red at all and was just being paranoid. So I stayed - like a god damn fool.
We were in for another two hours and when we finally got out and dried off, I was just extremely hot. Only on my face though. Checking out the damage in the mirror, I was redder then a lobster! I was kind of okay with this as the face really didn't bother me. As the night progressed, my arms started to itch really bad. I slept pretty good but when I awoke, I was covered in all these blisters all over my arms, shoulders, and back. It was the most disgusting thing I had ever seen. That whole area didn't hurt though, my shoulders were white. Some areas around the burn were pretty damn painful but nothing where the blisters were.
After a few days, I wasn't feeling much better. I was surprised my chest didn't burn and there wasn't any pain but slowly, I began to notice a difference with that as well. Jakob had jumped on me at one point in the day and I had this weird sensation on my chest. When i went to investigate under my shirt it was absolutely horrific. My skin just slid right off! Gross!?!? I know!
It was so fucking weird, I have never seen anything like it before in my life! It sounds so bad right? Imagine how it felt! It was like, actual moist skin. I was pretty freaked out about it. Over the course of a couple of days, I felt like it was a scene from a damn horror movie. Jakob really couldn't help it and I couldn't yell at him for wanting to be near me but every single time he jumped on me or came to sit on my lap, he would lean on my chest and skin would just slide right off. It was gross and totally raw under it. I had put on neosporin on all my other sunburn after I used the lidocaine and aloe relief and it healed pretty fast but I never even realized my chest was bad at all. Someone said it sounded like a 3rd degree burn. I was wondering if I didn't really have any pain right away because I was so badly burned that it damaged my nerves or something. I don't know.. Anyways..
Anyone familiar with burns? I don't have insurance yet in Florida, I am still waiting to hear back from the company so I was hesitant to go see a doctor or the hospital but boy, I really would've ran there had I had insurance. I was just miserable with this for weeks. It's been 3 weeks I think so far, and my chest still looks pretty bad. Hopefully I get my new cards in soon because I would like to have a doctor check this out.
Oh and for anyone who ever found me the least bit attractive do not scroll down, it really is gross and disgusting. Just remember me for the beauty I once was! lol j/k but if you are easily sickened by the sight of burnt boobies, do not look. You were warned..
Yeah, so any tips ideas to anyone who did look? It's disgusting right? I am probably going to have to see a plastic surgeon I think because I will not live my life looking like that. Yes, I really am that vain. My boobs are the only thing I have going for me! lol
But that was a couple of days ago. It does look like it is getting better but not by much.

), we were anxious to get into our pool and try it out.
