Sorry for your loss TMS. Our pets become so much more than the word 'pet' can convey. They are part of the family and trusted friends and companions. It broke my heart when I lost my dog Argy 5yrs ago, so I know how you must be feeling. *big hugs* to you.

That is a beautiful tribute, TMS. Ahhh, I can't quit crying. I'm sorry for your heartache, but I'm glad you had such a good friend and that she had you. It is better to have loved and lost than never loved...*hugs*

Oh TMS, I'm so sorry. I know how much it hurts to lose a friend like that. Just know what a difference you made in her life. I'm sure she appreciated & returned all the love you sent her way.
    I'm sad for you.

buy an out of state newspaper, or a trash-rag, to read on the train. it will give you something to do and you can now afford it! and bring snacks! you never know what could happen. you need peanuts and jerky!....maybe a payday bar.....

EDIT: I would have posted nothing if I didn't mean it. They already know I love working there and for them. Its not like I said anything bad about them I need to make up for.

Yay for survival of week one! Looks like you didn't need me to bring out the pom-poms after all!

I want to say something encouraging... but I can't think of anything that isn't cliched, so I'm going to go whole hog with it...

    Go get em tiger!

(Note: I do not mean like tiger woods... no collecting whores)

Yes, you SHOULD nail down whether you are hourly or whatever and THEN get something in writing that you don't have to do this crazy-ass commuting every damn day.

Lizard, thank you so much for this. You are a wonderful person for expressing exactly what I was thinking as I started this insanity. There is not a single person I know IRL who wouldn't have kicked my ass if I had said "no" to taking this opportunity.
Believe me, I am shocked that I am not burnt out. I am now consulting for my old boss so I get to go in there tomorrow (but only for a couple hours). The thing is, even now I would do anything for this company. This is how strongly I believe in the road they are on and our ability to do great things.
Having an AVM at 33 meant I basically lost my 30's. Even two years ago, I wouldn't have been able to do this. The timing is eerily perfect.
With so many people hurting for work and money, I am almost ashamed at myself for having this happen. I feel guilt - but not quite - I don't know what to call it.
I hope what is happening to me is inspiring to some. I pray it doesn't make anyone feel bad if they are in a tough situation. I want all of them to know that I have been right there with them by being undervalued, underpaid, and overworked my entire adult life. Yes, I have been "let go" before.
I love what you said but the bottom line is: This job is hourly until it is salary and I am going to treat it as such and be grateful.
