EL PASO - Capital murder charges have been filed against a Northeast El Paso man accused of beating his 10-month-old son.

Erick Aguilera, 23, of the 9500 block of Verbena, was arrested Wednesday after doctors at Thomason Hospital became suspicious of the infant's severe head injuries. Aguilera told police he had been showering with the boy when he slipped from Aguilera's hands and struck his head on the showerÕs tile wall and floor.

The infant died sometime during the weekend.

Aguilera remained in the El Paso County Jail Monday on charges of injury to a child and capital murder of a person under 6 years old. His bonds total $275,000.

damn showers...them and the beds and coffee tables hate kids. They are about as dangerous as my nail gun...

Speaking of which, do you think i could get away with "he was helping me nail some boards together when it accidentally discharged, hitting him with 500 rusty nails all over his body?" defense?
