It started in July and looked like a robbery:
Police are seeking two female suspects who threw “caustic liquid” in a woman’s face during an armed robbery Monday morning in the Logan Square neighborhood on the Northwest Side.
The incident occurred about 6:30 a.m. when two females of an unknown age, threw caustic liquid on a woman’s face during an armed robbery.

Police announced the arrest of a 16-year-old girl who allegedly threw a chemical in the face of a Logan Square woman during an attack.
The girl, who was arrested in California and extradited to Chicago, has been charged as a juvenile with armed robbery and heinous battery.

A second teenage girl has been charged in the attack of a Logan Square woman who suffered severe burns after she had a caustic liquid thrown in her face outside her residence last month.

A Cicero grandmother allegedly masterminded a disfiguring acid attack on a woman last July because she believed the woman was seeing her ex-husband, a prosecutor said in court Sunday.
Ofelia Garcia, 59, allegedly planned the assault by three youths, one of whom threw acid at Esperanza Medina, 48.
The social worker suffered third-degree burns on 25 percent of her body; she had multiple skin grafts, and might lose sight in an eye.
Linda Dirzo, 58, admitted driving the three youths, and video surveillance shows her dropping them off.
Two females and a male, all juveniles, accosted Medina with a bat and a bottle of acid. Medina's purse was stolen.
Garcia planned the assault "because she believed the victim was seeing her ex-husband," the prosecutor said.
