Police Fatally Shoot Cow

PORT HURON, Mich. -- A pair of tranquilizers didn't stop a cow running through the streets of Port Huron, forcing police to fatally shoot the animal.

Authorities said the cow was hit by a car Wednesday night and was spotted again early Thursday. They tried for more than three hours to capture the injured animal and hit it with tranquilizers, but it kept going.

Police blocked traffic as they tried to contain the cow, but fatally shot it after it tried to run back into traffic

Aw, Poor cow. I feel really bad for it.......

I'm not really sure who I think is smarter in this whole scenario. Having grown up on a farm with cattle........we did have the cows escape once in a while. However, all you have to do is chase them back to where they belong!!!! Never once did one of the cows need to be put down because it was out of control!!! I'm sure cows get crazy, but did it really warrant them shooting the cow????? Not that I'm all PETA or anything, but I just think it shows lack of intelligence on the human's part.
