Just got a 9/10 from OXM, but they said the single-player campaign is quite short. There are rumors that you can go through the single-player in 5 to 6 hours! Holy shit, if this is correct.

Then again, I think someone went through Super Mario Bros. from start to finish in 5 minutes, even though it took me half a year. So I'd like to know if this is a pro-gamer/reviewer or the average time. Could be a killer for me, as I prefer my gaming offline. Guess it's time for a Gamefly account.

Even worse, since the PS3 has a hard drive, the load times are much reduced, giving us a probable playtime more like 4 to 5 hours! So, obviously the 360 version is the one to get.

Kickass! Another reason to keep my Gamefly account. I love good, short games. Rent 'em , beat 'em, send it back. Leave the long games like Mass Effect, Fallout 3 and GTA4 in the "must buy" category and save me some dough.

Hey, maybe Heavenly Sword should have came out for the 360, then it wouldn't have gotten bashed for its extremely short gameplay as well. Swivel, you may be on to something.

Yeah, but Heavenly Sword has no multiplayer, so I can see dinging it, and judging COD4 on the online, with SP being an afterthought.

Speaking of loving short games, why do I feel COMPELLED to play and beat games just to get to the next one? This isn't a chore, it is something I love. Yet I feel an urge to get through the things and move on to the next in my list. Then, 6 months later, I bitch that there's nothing to play. I need a shrink.

I'm playing Folklore right now and it is an instant classic. An Ico or a Shadow of the Colossus, very brilliant game. But part of me is feeling like I should rush through it because Ratchet comes out tomorrow. Why can't I play Ratchet in December? Again, WTF?

Honestly, I'm more of a multi-player guy these days. But that trend is the reason the single player modes on these games continue to become shorter and shorter. So far it seems that with the "next gen" we've seen online integration grow and grow, while single player and local multi-player get whipped away. The latter of which annoys me highly.

It's where the money is at, and why network play is so important. It's not that I don't like multiplay, I am just done with deathmatch. We are old gamers, and I just don't find any enjoyment with it. Surprised about your Folklore views. It's getting around an 80 average in the press. Ratchet and Clank, on the other hand, is going to be badass.

Bought this game. It did feel short but the action and feeling of adventure crammed into that time period is pretty kick ass. I look forward to running through it on harder difficulties.

I don't pay any attention to how short (or long) games are. All that I care is if they are good or not. Hell... I have the attention span of a small child. I hardly ever complete games. I've had BLACK for the PS2 since the day it came out... and to this day I'm still only half way through it, despite the fact that I really enjoy the game.

I've heard it being blamed on both parties but my other games seem to be able to work online no problem. Either way it still pisses me off after just getting the service and only being able to enjoy it for 2 hours after repeatedly trying to hook up to servers for the last couple days.

This Tony Hawk Pro Skater clan named C.A.R. (createareview.com) held a video contest. You had to make a no manual line or a short (1-2 Min) improvisational video (meaning no lines, random game play. Anyway, I found out about the contest 20 minutes before it was over. There were only 2 entries, so I scrambled to start my machine up, cap an entry, edit it, upload, and post it. I did it in about 10-15 minutes. I found out today I ended up winning the thing and these prizes:

# 1 Copy of Tony Hawk's Proving Ground for Nintendo DS
# 1 Copy of Tony Hawk's Proving Ground for a Next-Gen Console
# 1 Copy of Spiderman 3 for PSP

I find the Chinatown map confusing as hell. There are way too many windows to snipe from. Too many elevated positions.

They've been out for a bit now. When they came out I merely started the game and it gave me the option to download new maps. Personally I don't think they were worth 10 buckeroos.

Oh yeah I know, supposedly Microsoft bought the rights for it to be released first to Xbox users only.


I was just curious if anyone here knew of a specific time that the maps were released. I did buy them for the Double XP weekend, that started at midnight but the maps weren't released then and we needed them to earn the Double XP.

We ended up getting them at 5pm though.

I do like the different levels we have. Worth ten dollars? I don't think so but it is nice to have a change of scenery. I constantly run in circles in China town and got lost a lot in Broadcast but I think that now that I am getting the hang of them, Broadcast is probably my current favorite.

We have it for both PS3 and XBOX 360. My son and husband's gamertag, is RyanJr. If you ever seem them on. I don't know their name for PS3. We have had ps3 since it came out and we have like 2 games for it. We were one of the idiots that paid like 600 or 700 for it, I forget.

I wouldn't say that's the WORST thing that could happen, but yeah, that sucks. I'm playing less and less due to actually trying to maintain a social life, but I try to play pretty often. I'm on my 7th Prestige after just bullshitting through my 6th.
