Police arrested 32-year-old Robert Shawn Mitchell on Saturday at a Little Rock hospital. It was not known why Mitchell had checked into the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences hospital.
Mitchell was arrested on suspicion of first-degree domestic battery and first-degree criminal mischief. Police accuse him of attacking his estranged wife, 37-year-old Sandra York Mitchell, who suffered wounds to her hand, arm and lower back. Police say her hand injury will require reconstructive surgery.
Robert Mitchell is being held without bond and has a Nov. 18 court appearance in Hot Springs District Court.
