SEDALIA - No one has seen 23-year-old Dana Bruce since Oct. 4, and Sedalia Police think they may have the case of a missing woman on their hands.
This is a case that has left family members worried and police looking for leads.
Dylan, 4, can't read the flyers hanging all over town that say his mom disappeared almost a month ago, virtually without a trace.
She has missed her other child's birthday and if she remains missing, will miss Dylan's birthday next week.
"Having her birthday, we thought if it was possible she would have come back by the birthday, but birthday's come and gone," Bruce's Aunt Penny Ford said.
Police said Bruce was at a Sedalia bar the night of Oct. 4 with a man police won't name.
Police said around 11:30 that night, Bruce returned to her babysitter's house to pay her more money to keep her kids later. That was the last anyone saw of her. Her family reported her missing the next day.
"I've been here for 25 years and have never had a case such as this," Cendy Harrell of the Sedalia Police Department said.
Sedalia police have traveled to Atlanta to interview the man she was last seen with but are hesitant to call him a suspect.
"We did go to Georgia in reference to a person of interest, and were able to talk with the individual, and at this point nobody's been ruled out," Harrell said.
Police have followed up on a number of tips, but all turned up empty, leaving family members holding out hope.
