This post is a work in progress...
I know this is a small site (not anymore, dickhead), with little activity (says you, fuck-wad), but I figured it was time to brush up on this post and add to it a bit. I stole a good bit of this from a forum that has an established debate forum that has been running successfully for years.
The Three Things forum will hopefully encourage members to develop critical thinking skills, and to understand how to properly support an argument in a written debate. Don't worry about changing an opinion as much as use this forum as a tool to sharpen your wit and possibly broaden someone else's outlook in the process.
In regards to this forum, there are some very simple guidelines to follow.
Do Not Create Angry Rants
Take your rants to the Shoutbox or General Forum. Also, no one cares if you hate republicans or democrats, vegans, pedophiles, etc. If your post is solely voicing that you hate a group, then make it elsewhere. That is unless you plan on describing the reasons you find any particular group objectionable.
Do Not Post Links with No Content
Do not post a link to an event to start a discussion unless you plan on offering content. Talk about what you are linking to, explain what you agree or disagree with, like or dislike. It only takes a few sentences and helps the reader understand what you want them to read, and what you want to discuss in particular.
Recognize that You Do Not Have Free Speech
This reminder is one of the most important. You do not have a right to free speech here. This actually goes for the entire forum. Blatantly racist, sexist, or bigoted threads will be locked. There are a ton of sites for that type of shit, so if that's what you like, go to them. We are pretty loose with rules and conduct, but that's a can of worms I just don't have time to deal with.
Recognize the Burden of Proof
Repeat after me: the burden of proof lies on the claimant. No matter the topic of the thread, it is your job to show that there are substantial reasons for believing the fundamentals of your argument. Like it or not, most claims in the Three Things forum will need to be referenced. This doesn't mean that you need to whip out your MLA handbook, but it does mean that you may be asked to provide a few hyperlinks. While it's okay to reference an offline book, magazine, or journal, these sorts of resources are difficult to check in a timely manner. No matter how smart you are, or think you are, you'll find very few people who want to "take your word for it." If you don't feel like referencing a specific claim, or you simply cannot recall where you acquired a piece of information, you're better off not using it as the centerpiece of your argument.
Do Not Personally Attack Other Members
Personal attacks are usually called "ad-homs." "Ad-hom" is an abbreviated version of ad-hominem, a Latin term used to denote the logical fallacy of attacking a person in the interest of discrediting an idea. Not all personal attacks are ad-hominem, if you are going to attack someone, make sure you can back it up and that it is germane to the debate. The rules against personal attacks for the sole reason of attacking will be enforced strictly. Repeat offenders will find themselves banned from the Forums altogether.

The rules have been updated. They are extremely simple, basic, and easy to follow. If you are not able to comply by them, then there may be a good chance that you are not as intelligent as you think you are. ;)

Does this have anything to do with my new "ASSHOLE" habit?
Edit: I guess I need to be more specific by noting that this is my third "ASSHOLE" habit of varying sorts.

No way. But I told my brother about it and he fired it up with his girlfriend!
He told me not to show my wife the video. That it leaves scars.

Seriously? Did your gag-reflex kick in?
I'm really curious about the video, but too chicken-shit to watch it. I'll only do it if Morbid is in the same room with me, forced to watch with me.

It did. I'm skipping dinner tonight.
To make it even worse, I had to refresh my browser THREE times to get it to load properly. I should have taken that as a sign.
Just watch it. I'm not scarred for life. You'll be OK.

2 Girls 1 Cup rules.
I watched it with a friend the first time. He barfed, I laughed, and then wiped a little bit of puke off my shoe. And ate it. And then barfed in his mouth.

I work for an endoscopy center, and primarily what they do there is colonoscopies. There is no shortage of jokes about shoving things up people's asses. Never gets old.

sadly............i think 2girls1cup deserves its own thread................
even worse................i now have complete mastery of my gag reflex. this video is a great way to practice how not to puke even though you really want to. if you dont............you are fucked up. i cant possibly imagine what that room smelled like...........oh wait, i can.............i just dont want to.
if there is a dark side to humanity, that video would be an example of that darksides lungs. nothing short of murder videos sickens me that bad! and yet, no beheading video i have seen made me want to throw up, nor did any ever ruin my dinner..............for 2 days.
my overall take..........show it to all your friends at work.

I asked hubby if he'd heard of 2girls1cup, and no, he hadn't. I googled that puppy up and told him that I had to walk away, but if he wanted to watch it, just click the top link. I then went outside to smoke a cigarette. Not 20 seconds later, I heard gagging and coughing from inside the house and he appeared not 5 seconds after that. He said that he couldn't click the little X fast enough.
He did say to keep the link for future use. Sometimes, if he's hungover or had too much to eat, he knows that he'll feel better if he pukes, but sticking his finger down his throat does no good (Same with my older son too. I spent a whole morning with my fingers on his tonsils trying to get him to barf up a double dose of the day's medicine to no avail. He gagged a bunch, but no barf.).
My point is: if it makes my husband gag, then it has to be some foul shit! :beurk:

Too funny! I just tried to tell my husband about it. I couldn't even describe it without gagging. I did not even make it through the description. I could not even form the words without retching.
In the end, he refused to watch it.
I have to say though, the choice of background music is HILARIOUS.

I will say that I do love watching the reaction videos that have been posted over at YouTube.
Even though I haven't seen the video, I have heard the background music and I have to agree with Kathy that it's hilarious.
