Tayor Meyer, 17, and her friends went drinking out near an abandoned airfield on Friday night. According to her friends, she "wandered off," and hasn't been seen since.

The police now have dogs and helicoptors involved, but so far, there's been no sign of Taylor.

Here's the full story. I'm going to try to dig up more. This doesn't sound good to me, and I find myself questioning the teens' story... I hope Taylor is found safely, and soon. But it's COLD out there at night (27 degrees last night)

ETA: Here's a picture of her:

State and local police are using dogs and helicopters today to search woods in Norfolk where a 17-year-old went missing Friday night.

Police said Taylor Meyer and other teens had apparently been drinking near the now-defunct Norfolk airport around 10 p.m. when she wandered off from the group. A student at Kingfield Regional High School in Wrentham, Meyer is 5-foot-8-inches tall and weighs approximately 150 pounds, said Greg McMorrow, a Norfolk police dispatcher. The Plainville teen has blonde hair and blue eyes.

Police have scheduled a press conference later today to discuss the search.

She was found drowned nearby. Kinda sounds like she wandered off after drinking and fell into the swamp.

Taylor Meyer's body was found today in a swampy area near the airport in Norfolk where she and other teens were drinking Friday night, Norfolk County District Attorney William Keating said.

"There was no obvious sign of trauma. We are not able to deal with the question of cause of death at this time," Keating said.

Meyer, a senior at King Philip Regional High School, was one of about 15 teenagers who partied Friday night in a wooded area off the abandoned airport's runway.

Norfolk Detective Nathan Fletcher said the teenagers were drinking beer and vodka shots. Meyer, who lived in nearby Plainville, left around 11 p.m. and headed out of the wooded area in the general direction of her home, her friends told police.

Fletcher said Meyer's friends told police that the teen was supposed to be picked up by a cousin. That cousin could not understand what Meyer was saying when she called around 10:30 p.m. and didn't know where to pick her up, Fletcher said.

Initial autopsy findings released late yesterday afternoon indicate that Taylor Meyer, the 17-year-old King Philip Regional High School senior whose body was found Monday in a swamp near the old Norfolk Airport, died by drowning.

"While the final cause of death has not been issued, since some standard medical testing has not been completed, the examination found no evidence of trauma or foul play in her death," said Norfolk County District Attorney's Office spokesman David Traub in a press release yesterday.

He noted the office of the chief medical examiner had completed the physical autopsy, and "the available evidence is consistent with death by drowning."
