ELIZABETH, N.J. (CBS) ― An Amber Alert has been issued in New Jersey for a 3-year-old girl allegedly abducted while she was shopping with her mother in Elizabeth, CBS 2 has learned.
State Police say at about 11 a.m. Thursday, the victim, identified as Jessica Alexandra Alvarez, was seen on surveillance video being led out of a store at the Unique Thrift Store on 116 Broad Street by an unidentified woman while the girl's mother was shopping.
Alvarez is described as a Hispanic girl standing 3-feet tall and weighing 30 pounds. She was last seen wearing a white hooded sweatshirt, a white t-shirt with a picture of a dog or cat on the front, and tan/beige pants.
The suspect is described as a black female, in her late 40s or 50s, about 135 pounds, with long curly black hair believed to be a wig, and wearing a teal/blue/green jacket and a dark colored shirt.
There is no vehicle involved at this time.
If you have any information regarding this abduction you are urged to call 911 immediately.

A 3-year-old girl has been found after being taken from the toy area of an Elizabeth thrift store this morning by a woman, according to a report by Channel 7 Eyewitness News.
She was found in a minivan at the corner of Whittier Street and West Grand Avenue in Rahway, according to the newscast. She appears to be in good condition, but was taken by EMTs to an area hospital.

An Amber was been issued. State Police report the child - Jessica Alexandra Alvarez - was removed from the Unique Thrift store at 116 Broad St. at about 11 this morning.

Jessica Alexandra Alvarez is Hispanic, stands 3-feet tall and weighs 30 pounds. A surveillance video showed her wearing a white hooded sweatshirt, a white t-shirt with a picture of a dog or cat on the front, and tan/beige pants, police said.

Police released a photo of the suspect taken from a surveillance video. The video shows the child being led out of the store by a woman in her 40s or 50s with long curly black hair believe to be a wig.

City spokesman Bill Reyes said the suspect has light skin, big eyes, a wide nose, "very bad teeth," and heavy make-up and was wearing a teal/blue/green long-sleeve shirt or jacket and dark tights.

The little girl's mother was shopping while the child played in the toy area, police said.

No kidding...I did see the picture of the woman and it made me think, "What if THIS could be Zenaida Gonzalez?" But then reality set in....I know Casey made her up.
