I've been reading here for a couple of months and decided since I'm going to hang around I should probably actually join and introduce myself.

I live in South Carolina and have one daughter who is a freshman in college. She is the light of my life and the black hole that sucks up all of my income.

I have 4 dogs, 8 sheep, 7 geese, and a kitten named Knick Knack. (The princess rescued him from the pasture when he was about 4 weeks old. When I asked her about his name she shrugged and giggled. A friend later told me that everyone knows you leave your knick knacks at home when you go away to college)

So...anyway...that's probably more than you wanted to know for now. Thanks for letting me come hang out here. And thanks to those who sent me welcoming messages already. As soon as I'm bright enough to figure out how to answer them I'll say "hi" back!

Can't the magical cat supply you with gasoline? Is this beast an outside kitty who would live in my barn?

As to the gas, we're having long lines and outages here as well. Several of the stations that do have gas are imposing a $25.00 limit. I'm supposed to head toward Charlotte this weekend, hopefully the situation will improve by then.

Honestly, I think it's a "manufactured" shortage. I have heard some of the stations are rationing just to be able to boost the price. Gas finally went down to $3.69 here this morning. Last Saturday you couldn't find gas anywhere in town.

Yeah, the sheep guy totally creeped me out. I have a guardian miniature donkey coming in the next week or so.... <insert witty comment regarding asses here>
