An Oklahoma City mother was charged Monday with child neglect after neighbors found her 3-year-old son wandering around the parking lot of their apartment complex with beer in his bottle.

Rose Adame, 32, was so intoxicated she could not stand June 21 when police arrived at her apartment complex at 2149 SW 38, according to court papers. She still tried to grab the beer-filled baby bottle so she could continue drinking, court papers say.

She was unresponsive when paramedics arrived to evaluate her son, Detective Kerry Robinson wrote in an affidavit. She stopped breathing en route to a local hospital because she was so intoxicated.

Adame later told police she had been sick and drank about a dozen beers that day, starting at 9 a.m., Robinson wrote.

Two neighbors spotted Adame’s son wandering unsupervised in the parking lot, Robinson wrote. They told police they thought he had beer in his bottle, which was confirmed by the first officer on the scene.

Just my luck sucks

Thank goodness for concerned neighbors- they probably saved the little guy from all sorts of horrors. We can only hope "Mama" never gets him back and if she ever gets herself together she only gets supervised visits.

Jeez, that's a sad scene, isn't it? The kid walking around a parking lot with beer in his bottle, while mom triest to pry it out of his fingers to take a swig?

Yeah, thank god the cops found the baby in that condition but alive then something much much worse, which was probably not too far off.

My parents used to put whiskey in my bottle, but at least they were smart enough to keep it behind closed doors. Duh.

And, I'm sorry, but I think she's full of shit about only having 12 beers since 9am. I don't know what time it was when the cops got there, but if it was anywhere passed noon, 12 beers should not have made her stop breathing. Pills, too, perhaps?

That's just my unprofessional, yet experienced, opinion.
