Hello all,
I found this site by doing a search of Caylee's name right after the story broke. I really love this site, it rocks!
I'm a middle-aged, married woman with the best husband in the world, and 4 dogs - three male Collies and one male Sheltie. They are some of the worst bred Collies and qualify for Worst In Show, but very loving and smart.
I'm rather shy and quiet, your typical bean counter. A misfit. "Lurk" is my middle name. :)
I like to read, garden, and follow politics. I spend way too much time on the computer.
I didn't realize this forum existed until someone posted instructions on how to get to drunk chat, so this is a bit late.
My real name is Candace and I live in Ohio.
Some have asked where my screen name came from, it's a Jethro Tull song from the good old days. :)

Welcome! I really like your name, too--as soon as I saw it, I thought, "If she's really cross-eyed, she has mega balls to be advertising it."
I spend too much time on the Demon and have 2 dogs and...uh (counting)...6 cats. Since I also have a husband of 19 years, I'm not eligible for the Crazy Cat Lady title. I'm also in the Midwest (Illinois).

Hi, Mary, what kind of world would we have if everyone was shy and quiet? I admire anyone who has the confidence for loud, obnoxious behavior! :)
And thanks for doing rescue, the critters really need people like you. My Sheltie was a rescue. He was a stud in a puppy mill and never saw the light of day or run in the grass, living in a cage in a basement. He's coming along, though. He discovered digging around a Japanese cherry tree will make it go BOOM in a windstorm. He was so surprised to see it laying down.

Morbid, thank you for the site. I've never seen anything else like it.
Not a Tull fan, huh? The story of Cross-eyed Mary is quite interesting, though.

LOL, me thinks I'm a bit old for this site. The Crosseyed Mary tune came out in 1970, I think. What does that tell ya? :)
I'm open to suggestions for updating my musical tastes. I threw out my 8 track tapes a few years ago. That was a step in the right direction.
Aw, kitties.....I'd love to have one or two, but the dogs think they're toys. Not fair to kitties. I miss my old tom kitty, he slept on my head and ate the spiders in the bath tub. He earned his keep, unlike the Collies who contribute to the dust bunny population.

Hi Share........thanks for the welcome.
My Collies are something else - no one wanted them because they looked so bad, flat ears, bad coats, terrible conformation, more genetic defects than I can count. Their capacity for love hasn't been damaged by bad genes though, they're such cuddlers.
The Sheltie is pretty screwed up too, but he's a little smartie pants and gorgeous. He's the blue merle variety (black, white, gray and tan) with Blue eyes.
I decided to rescue Collies after the death of my Scotch Collie. He was perfect genetically and so sweet, he hooked me on the breed.
I'm stopping myself before I write a book here :) Nice to meet you.
