View Full Version : Mrs. Ronald Preston's in-home day care was great, except for the child raping.

Wife wants to make some income. Couple lives in a small town. Hey, why doesn't she open an in-home day care? Great idea! Provide a safe and loving atmosphere for the kids while their parents work. What could go wrong?

Oh, your husband is a scary convicted sex offender? Well, don't let that stop you. Oops, sorry about those years of sexual assault, little girl.http://www.pantagraph.com/articles/2008/09/12/news/doc48cabfd139442478596547.txt

"A convicted sex offender whose wife ran an in-home day care in Heyworth was charged Friday with sexually assaulting a child during the several years the child was left at the home for care."

Thankfully, "Preston’s previous conviction in 1997 for molesting a child could make him eligible for life in prison if convicted on the recent charges"

According to the Illinois Sex Offender site, Robert Preston molested a 10 year old child in 1997, when he was 38 years old. Bonus, at the S.O. site, there are TWO pictures of this scum, so we can see how well he's aged. http://www.isp.state.il.us/sor/sor.cfm

PARENTS -- go to the library if you have to, but if you send your kid to someone's home for daycare, check the Sex Offender registry. Hell, even if you keep the home all the time, Check It Anyway!!

I cant imagine that this at home daycare was licensed? Doesn't the state do background checks on all those living in the home prior to licensing?

It wasn't licensed. In Illinois, if you watch less than three other children (I think its three), you don't have to have a license.

Anyone want to put bets on how many more victims will be discovered?

This particular victim is younger than 13 and hasn't been at the daycare for over a year, but she overheard a conversation about telling someone you trust if someone else inappropriately touched you. Her abuse started when she was only 5. :(

How could she watch kids? She had to know his background. Why did she even want him around. I'd rather kill scum like that than let them around me or my children.
They BOTH need prison. Better yet, let the parents at them. Even better, prison and general population.
I bet that big assed bastard starts whining how he's going to kill himslf just so he can stay on the nice safe psych unit.
