there's nothing original about me, save for original sin.

Hi there. I'm Shannan, and I am happy to have found this site. I think I've been a demon addict now for about a month. <do I get to wear some kind of pin? is it kinky?>:biggrin1:

Honestly, I'm amazed that I didn't stumble across DD sooner as I love tracking/investigating the unworkings of the criminal mind. I frequent a number of BB's and must say this is the most elaborate and informative of the bunch. Pardon me as I learn to navigate the site and all of it's amenities. So many days go by and I can't figure out how to get back to a thread--once I read them, they seem to vanish on me!

A little about me-- I'm a 51 year old female. I have 4 wonderful children-- alas, no grandchildren as of yet{crossing fingers}. Married and divorced twice, and never doing that sentence again. Three devoted pups--and I am devoted to them too.

The thing that amazes me most in my life is that my incredible, amazing mother was all of 13 when she became pregnant with my older sister-yes, shot gun wedding for my mom with my then 19 yo "Dad". 14 months after older sis came into the world, I was born --and then 14 more months went by and my younger sister made her appearance. Really, Babies raising babies.

But, my Mama walks on water--none of us were ever neglected, abused, or misplaced (hey Anthony family--wake the fuck up!) Mama never accepted welfare, and at times she worked three jobs to hang on to us kids --when my "dad" went on a lifetime walk-about (to borrow language from down under.) She shouldered the total responsibilities of a sole parent without a whimper.

So, that's why the handle-- I lead a fairly blessed life, had a pretty wonderful past and childhood, living a terrific present and the belief in a possible very pleasant future awaits....it's just that I've never won the lotto! :pout:

I could and would do a lot of good with the proceeds from the lotto! :)

Don't know if you've already figured this out on your own, but at the top of every thread is a button called "Thread Tools". Simply click on that and then hit "subscribe to thread". You can then choose how often you want updates etc.

Welcome :biggrin1:

Thank you all for the warm welcome.

I know my bio-dad sounds like a pedo since he took up with my mom at 13. But, this was over 50 years ago and my Grandmother made it sound "normal"
she was the product of mail order bride. My great grandmother came by ship from Poland at 16, and was married off to my great grandfather who was 38 at the time.

Besides, I've checked the achives and bio-dad's name doesn't come up.

Again, thank you for making me feel at home here. I have so much to learn all the cool whistles and bells on this site.
