The injuries were fresh: a fractured and bruised skull, cut and collapsed lung, a ruptured liver, bruises across the head, jaw, back, chest and spine and five fractured ribs, the Palm Beach County medical examiner said.
Lakeicia Jones was 2 years old when she died Monday. Medical Examiner Michael Bell had no doubt what killed her: "blunt force trauma or squeezing."
On Friday, the girl's stepfather Nathaniel Sampson, 20, was arrested on charges of first-degree murder and aggravated child abuse. Detectives concluded that he battered the toddler until she fell over lifeless with bubbles coming out of her mouth.
The girl's mother, Diane Jones, 27, is six months pregnant with his child. Two separated at the end of May because of a domestic confrontation. Since then, Sampson was staying with a cousin in Mangonia Park, and Jones and Lakeicia would visit on weekends,.
Family members said Lakeicia was a healthy child who liked to play but would be kept in the bedroom for entire weekends with Sampson.
On Monday, Sampson was babysitting Lakeicia. She was asleep on the bed and he was in the living room playing video games. His cousin and his aunt were home but said they did not know the girl was there. Surprise! Dead baby in the back room!!
Sampson told detectives he changed the girl's diaper and she was fine, but when he sat her up against the wall, she fell sideways.
"She was lifeless," he told detectives. "I freaked out. I froze."
Bell said the girl suffered injuries that went far beyond a fall.

She would take her kid for the weekend to visit her human dildo and leave the baby in the bedroom the whole time? I suppose Lakeicia was at daycare during the week. Between get-home and go-to-bed, this pitiful excuse of a mom probably spent less than 15 hours a week with her kid. When she had free time she chose her crotch over her kid.
There should be a law, no kid, no cooter - maybe then the idiots would at least take better care of kids.
How could that guy have people in the house on Monday and not even mention the kid was there?
