A Wauconda Township woman pleaded guilty to molesting an 8-year-old boy Wednesday and was sentenced to 14 years in prison.
As part of her negotiations, Tiffany Horak, 26, agreed to testify that her husband, Carl, molested the same child.
Both she and Carl Horak, 25, were arrested in January when a relative of the victim learned of the abuse and went to police.
The acts took place between last fall and the early part of this year, Lake County Assistant State's Attorney Ari Fisz said.
Both Horaks, of 28088 Lake Drive, were charged with multiple counts of predatory sexual assault of a child, and faced up to 30 years in prison if convicted of any count.

Pardon my language..
But what the hell is wrong with people?
HOW can ANY adult find ANY child sexually attractive?
The PARENTS should be allowed to CHOOSE and DOLE out the punishment in these cases.

I agree with Kelli--what IS wrong with these people--
they had each other to abuse if that is what turned them on.
I know if anyone abused a young one in my family they would have to answer to the little ones Uncles--who are not small guys. And 14 years is not very long. I'll bet she is going to pay in many ways while in prison.

Wow, I look at the picture of this guy and I hear banjos. I think his father is probably his grandfather also...
She is a special kind of evil, she can molest a young boy, film it, appear in the film and then look at her partner in crime and turn on him in a flash. I don't think even Satan could deserve such a beast. No crime is too low for her.
May they join each other after their final judgement, rot in hell.
Scum.

Lake County child molestation trial gets under way
An 8-year-old girl was raped repeatedly over a period of months that ended last January, a Lake County prosecutor said Wednesday.
No, she was not, Carl Horak's defense attorney responded, because there was a house full of people who would have heard or seen something.
Horak, 26, formerly of Wauconda, is on trial for predatory sexual assault of a child and could face as much as 120 years in prison if convicted.
Lake County Assistant State's Attorney Ari Fisz told the jury of 10 men and two women seated before Circuit Judge Fred Foreman that the victim trusted Horak and his wife, Tiffany Horak. The couple abused that trust, Fisz said, and committed what he called "a series of despicable acts" against her between September 2007 and January 2008.
Tiffany Horak, 27, pleaded guilty in July and agreed to testify against her husband in exchange for a prison sentence of 14 years.
She announced her desire to avoid testifying Tuesday, but Foreman said he would not grant her blanket protection of the Fifth Amendment. She is expected to take the stand sometime this week.
Fisz said the girl told a relative about the abuse she suffered at the hands of the Horaks, and Lake County sheriff's detectives were called.
"She is going to tell you that man repeatedly molested her," Fisz said in his opening statement. "She is going to say it happened again and again and again."
Defense attorney Robert Ritacca of Waukegan told the jurors his client never touched the girl, and was not living in the Wauconda Township house where she claims the abuse took place during some of the time when the attacks were to have occurred.
When Carl Horak was present, Ritacca said, there were several other adults in the house who would have had to be aware of something of that nature.
"Complaints of this nature have to be corroborated," Ritacca said. "It has to be shown, it has to be seen."
He also said a nurse, specially trained in the treatment and diagnosis of child sex abuse, will testify she found no physical signs of abuse during an examination of the girl.
But Fisz countered the nurse will also say she did not examine the girl until 10 days after the last attack, and it is possible any physical damage could have healed.
Testimony is expected to continue today.

A former Wauconda woman who agreed to testify against her husband in a child molesting case said Tuesday she no longer wants to be a witness.
However, Circuit Judge Fred Foreman said he would not allow Tiffany Horak blanket protection under the Fifth Amendment to skip her testimony at her husband's trial this week in Lake County Circuit Court.
Carl Horak, 26, is charged with predatory sexual assault of a young girl, the same girl Tiffany Horak has pleaded guilty to molesting.
In exchange for the 14-year sentence she is serving, Tiffany Horak agreed to testify about what she observed her husband doing to the girl.
But on Tuesday, Lake County Assistant Public Defender Karen Levy told Foreman her client intended to invoke the Fifth Amendment on two grounds.
First, Levy said, Tiffany Horak was concerned she would be charged with perjury if she did not testify to the exact events she described to prosecutors during her plea negotiations.
Second, Levy said, her client was concerned she may open herself to additional charges if she describes acts not covered in her plea agreement with prosecutor Ari Fisz.
Fisz responded that Tiffany Horak would not be subject to perjury charges no matter what she said on the stand because her previous statements to him and police officers were not under oath.
He also said Tiffany Horak should not worry about incriminating herself because he only intended to ask her about what her husband did to the child, not what she did.
Fisz said he was leaving open his option of revoking his agreement with Tiffany Horak, and could do so if her testimony deviates significantly from her prior statements.
Foreman said he would evaluate any request for Fifth Amendment protection from Tiffany Horak and her attorney on a question-by-question basis when she is on the witness stand.
Should she refuse to answer a question that he believes she has no right to decline under the Fifth Amendment, Foreman said, he will hold her in custody until she agrees to answer.
If Fisz is unsatisfied with her testimony and moves to withdraw the plea agreement, Foreman said, he will consider that issue after Carl Horak's trial is concluded.
Testimony in Carl Horak's trial is expected to begin today. If convicted of all the counts against him, he faces a prison sentence of 78 to 120 years.

A Lake County jury deliberated a little more than an hour Friday before convicting Carl Horak of 13 counts of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child.
Horak, 26, formerly of Wauconda Township, faces a mandatory prison sentence of 78 to 120 years when he returns to court Feb. 11.
He and his wife, Tiffany Horak, 27, were arrested Jan. 18, 2008 after an 8-year-old girl told a relative the couple had been molesting her over a five-month period.
Tiffany Horak pleaded guilty in July and received a 14-year sentence in exchange for a promise to provide truthful testimony against her husband.
However, in her testimony Thursday she at first said she could not remember any of the attacks or statements she had attributed to her husband, then said she made up all the information she had given to prosecutors.
Friday's session of the trial began on a combative note when Lake County Assistant State's Attorney Ari Fisz attempted to introduce two telephone calls Carl Horak made from the Lake County jail.
In the calls, Horak appears to be encouraging witnesses who will testify for the defense to lie for him.
"I don't, I don't care if it's the truth or a (expletive) lie," he says in one of the calls. "I don't care."
But defense attorney Robert Ritacca objected to introduction of the tapes, saying because Fisz obtained the tapes from the jail Thursday night, the defense did not have enough time to study them.
Circuit Judge Fred Foreman barred Fisz from playing the tapes for the jury, and Ritacca asked for a mistrial to be declared in the case.
He said his client made more than 500 phone calls, and he wanted time to listen to each one as part of his defense of Horak.
"There are 500 calls on those tapes and I have not heard one of them," Ritacca said. "There might be 500 witnesses I have to talk to."
Foreman denied the request for the mistrial, saying if Ritacca believed his client's phone calls were important for the defense he could have obtained the recordings from jail officials himself.
Horak then took the stand and denied he did anything of a sexual nature to the girl, responding "absolutely not," each time Ritacca asked him if he had committed a specific act.
In his closing argument, Fisz asked the 10 men and two women on the jury to believe the girl and not Horak.
"Little girls do not lie about sexual assault," he said. "If a kid lies at all, it will be to get themselves out of an uncomfortable situation, not to get into one."
Ritacca told the jurors he did not believe the girl was lying, but that she was simply repeating a story a relative told her to tell.
"This little girl had a source," Ritacca said. "No little girl is going to say she had sex with an adult without having a source."
