CLINTON - A Utah man has been jailed for allegedly raping a young female neighbor several times over a six-year period -- since the girl was just a child, authorities said.
John Joseph Mulligan, of Clinton, is accused of having sex with the girl dozens of times since 2002 -- during which time she lived near him. Officials say at that time, the girl was just 9-years-old.
The girl, now 15, finally reported the abuse to authorities last month.
Authorities say that Mulligan could actually be a repeat offender, since he faced similar charges in California when he was a resident there.
Mulligan was jailed on $250,000 cash-only bail.
