HIGHLAND VILLAGE - A soccer coach has been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting two young girls at his Highland Village home home.
Police say there may be more victims of Daniel Cassidy, who coaches a Lewisville soccer team.
Detectives in Highland Village said they have been trying to get in touch with every child that has entered the coach's home. In addition to the two alleged victims, they have interviewed at least a half a dozen children.
"I was just really shocked when I found out what had happened," said Blake Leighton, Cassidy's neighbor. "Mr. Dan is a really nice guy. No one would have thought something like this would have happened because we're always in and out of his house and talking to him all the time."
The 47-year-old engineer was arrested a week ago for allegedly abusing a 5-year-old and 10-year-old girl.
For the past three years, organizers say the engineer coached a girls recreational soccer team for the Greater Lewisville Area Soccer Association. However, officers say the girls that have come forward are children from the neighborhood, not from his team.
"We're still doing interviews with other children at this time," said Detective Doug Bell, Highland Village Police Department.
Cassidy lives a block from an elementary school.
While court documents obtained by News 8 show the girls had come to his house to visit his children, the records say he instead forced the girls to play sexual games with him. The documents also accused Cassidy of abusing one of the children in a hot tub.
"He was tickling me at first," one child told investigators. "He kept tickling me and it was funny, but then it wasn't ... He told me I would get in big trouble if I told anybody."
Documents also say Cassidy had photos and videos of young girls at playgrounds.
"Through the initial investigation, another victim came forward," Bell said. "As the information gets around to other people, it's possible there may be other victims."
Cassidy remains in jail on $1 million. His wife told News 8 her husband intends to plead not guilty. The league said Cassidy is no longer involved with the team.
