Missing Wood County Men Found, Say They Were Kidnapped
Also Allegedly Chained Up, Sexually Assaulted

A 23-year-old Wisconsin man vanished July 4th and after days of looking for him, the search was called off Tuesday afternoon.
About the time that search was called off, a second area man was reported missing.
Then around 8 p.m. Tuesday, a local resident reported that a naked, bleeding man had shown up on his porch.
This lead the authorities to the Saratoga home of 46-year-old Edward Lanphear and what they call a house of horrors.
Reports say Lanphear offered to give the first victim a ride home as he was walking back from a fireworks show on Friday night. He pulled over, told the victim he was a police officer, handcuffed him, and hit him over the head, knocking him out. When he awoke, the victim says he was chained up in Lanphear’s basement.
The 21-year-old second victim was drinking at Johnny's Bar in Wisconsin Rapids Sunday night and went to his car parked outside the tavern and passed out. He woke and found himself chained up and hanging inside a garage, with all his clothes removed. He was able to escape the garage and ran across the street, naked and still partially bound by chains, and reported his kidnapping to the residents there.
Lanphear is being held on $1 million bond. Bond was set Wednesday in Wood County Circuit Court, but online court records show formal charges have not yet been filed.
Other details from the probable cause affidavit:
* The 23-year-old man awoke in Lanphear's basement, bound by chains and unable to free himself. Lanphear used a knife to cut off his victim's clothing and then repeatedly assaulted him.
* Lanphear attached one end of a string to the trigger of a shotgun and the other end to the chains wrapped around his victim. He told the young man that if he moved, it would tighten the string around the shotgun and fire the weapon.
* The victim was left on the basement floor, which was covered in plastic.
* The second victim told police that he knew Lanphear was his assailant because he had seen him frequently in Johnny's Bar.
* The 21-year-old man said Lanphear hit him in the head with a metal pipe or metal device, cutting his left eye and bruising his eyebrow and cheek. He said his hands were bound by "flex cuffs" and his eyes were covered by a device so that he couldn't see.
* In addition to his eye and cheek injuries, the 21-year-old man had severe injuries to his nose and believed he had been sexually assaulted.

They searched his house today but no info released on that yet.
I really wonder what else this sicko has been up to. Seems odd to me that he would just plan this all out and then go after 2 guys in such a short time.
