ENFIELD, Conn. -- Regina Barnes sat waiting outside the Rockville Superior Court Wednesday while trying to come up with the money to bail her teenage son out of jail.

Police arrested her son, who has been accused of assaulting a 1-month-old baby.

Police said Scott Perigo, 17, was staying with his girlfriend at her Tolland home at the time of the May assault.

The baby was fathered by the girlfriend's ex-boyfriend, police said.

Police said the baby began crying during the night of May 8, and Perigo attended to the child. Police said while Perigo changed the baby's diaper, the child urinated on him, allegedly causing him to assault the baby.

The baby was taken to an Enfield pediatrician, who reported to police that she believed the baby was abused. The child was transported to Connecticut Children's Medical Center for treatment.

Police said the baby suffered multiple skull fractures and contusions to his body. His condition remains unknown.

After an investigation into the assault, a warrant was issued for Perigo's arrest. He was taken into state police custody on Tuesday.

Perigo was charged with assault and risk of injury to a minor. He remains held on a $250,000 bond and is scheduled to appear at Tolland Superior Court on Wednesday.

i dont think it was the pee that made him beat the baby - its the fact that this infant was his girlfriends ex-boyfriends baby. an obvious reminder of infidelity, & the flesh & blood of the boy who slept with his gf. im sure he feels like this baby has tagged him to the public as being unable to satisfy his own woman & hes taking out his anger over the entire situation with gf on the innocent little one . . .im just so glad the babys mom didnt roll over for the bf & took baby 4 medical care!

I bet you money this wasn't the first time this kid showed questionable behavior around this baby or gf. You have to have serious fucking anger issues to have your first reaction to being pissed on be delivering a beat down to something that weighs less than 10lbs.
