A South Florida mother was in bond court Tuesday for allegedly abusing her 10-year-old son after photographs of the alleged abuse were sent through emails, police said.
Evelyn Rolong, 26, was arrested and charged Monday with aggravated child abuse, causing bodily harm and torture, according to a police press release.
Hialeah Gardens Police said they arrested the woman after the victim’s father, Freyre I Mendez, contacted police. On Sunday, Mendez provided police with two photographs, which allegedly show his son Jesus David Mendez naked in the shower with soiled underwear on his face.
Police said Mendez received four photographs in total, which were emailed to him showing his son in the shower.
The victim, who lives with Rolong, was questioned at Rolong’s home by police after they received the photographs. According to police, the victim stated that he defecated on himself after both bathrooms in the house were occupied. That’s when his mother took him in the shower, made him undress and placed the dirty underwear on his face. Rolong took photographs of her son and emailed them to her friends, the release said. She claims she was disciplining her son, police said.
