FARMINGTON, Mich. -- Police are searching for a newborn after a woman, who was bleeding heavily, came to Botsford Hospital and claimed she had given birth in the past 24 hours but didn't know where her baby was.

Police said Elizabeth Sanders, 29, of Detroit checked herself into the hospital on Tuesay.

Sanders said her boyfriend took the baby and threw it into a Dumpster.

Sanders is in critical condition.

Police searched a Redford home on Tuesday for the man, but he was not at the home.

The search continues for the baby and the father.

Authorities are not sure if the baby is alive.

The boyfriend told doctors that Sanders went into the bathroom in their home in the 17000 block of McIntyre Tuesday and later came out with a plastic garbage bag. The man told doctors that Sanders asked him to dispose of the baby, sources said.

After the boyfriend told his story Tuesday, hospital staff called Farmington Hills police. But by the time officers arrived, he was gone.

well, i question her story, but i could be completely biased and wrong. but it seems to me that females are baby dumpsterers much more than males. maybe bc if the man cares about the chick enough he stays and if he doesnt care, he disappears? again, it is just what i feel i hear more often. i cannot quote stats and could be totally wrong

Its Michigan, the bitch probably killed that baby (who is less than a 20 minute drive from my home) and then told him to do something with it. Fucking ignorant pieces of shit. I would've taken the baby, I would've gladly brought it home and gave it love and affection that this cunt obviously lacked the ability to do. At 6 months it could of lived, but it has almost been two days, there is no way they are going to find this baby alive...if they ever find it at all.
