Amber Alert Requested for missing teen and infant

Birmingham, AL Police requested an amber alert on Friday afternoon for a missing 16-year-old girl and the 1-year-old boy she was baby-sitting. The two were last seen Thursday night at approximately 10 p.m. at 3009 31st Avenue North.

The child is identified as Treshon M. Williams. The teen Antoinetta Smith was last seen driving away in Treshon mother's maroon, 1997 4-door Ford Crown Victoria. The Alabama license tag is14127AN.

Police said the car was taken without permission. No clothing descriptions were available.

Car Found, Child and Baby Sitter Still Missing

New developments in the search for a missing Birmingham child and his baby sitter.

Police made the case an Amber Alert late Friday afternoon and then around 7:10 Friday night the car they were looking for was found. The 1997 maroon Ford Crown Victoria was first spotted on Tuscaloosa Avenue, then was located at a home on 4820 Terrace R, that's near 48th Street in Ensley.

Police believe that the missing baby sitter, 16 year old Antoinetta Smith and the child, Treshon Williams were in the car, but got out and left on foot. Birmingham Police say Smith needs to get the child back home, because the longer he's away the more hazardous the situation becomes.

Antoinetta Smith and Treshon Williams have been missing since Thursday night around 10:00 when she was baby sitting him at his home off of 31st Avenue North in Collegeville. If you see them, call the Birmingham Police department at 254-0800.

Missing Baby Found

The ordeal ended just after midnight Sunday morning. The 1 year old was reportedly found in a Bessemer housing community. Police say 17 year old Antoinetta Smith, accused of taking the boy, took the baby to a former classmate’s home early Saturday saying he was her child. The woman eventually realized the baby was the missing child and called police. Smith reportedly tried to escape in the car of an unidentified male and was arrested a few blocks away.

Sounds like she had a bit of a break with reality, eh?

So glad she just wanted a baby, but wasn't out to harm one, and the little guy is safe. Phew.

Thank goodness that they are both safe...even though she made a bad choice, I am glad that they are ok.
