OKLAHOMA CITY -- A suspect was charged with first-degree murder Wednesday in the burning death of an Oklahoma City woman who was allegedly kidnapped from her boyfriend's house and then assaulted.

Capt. Steve McCool said investigators brought Quintez Deshawn Thomas, 25, in for questioning in the death of Baby Girl Brackett before booking him on charges of first-degree murder, assault with a deadly weapon and pointing a firearm and violation of the self-defense act. A second suspect was still being sought by police.

Baby Girl Brackett, 37, of Oklahoma City, died early Wednesday. The state medical examiner still has to make the final determination of Brackett's death, police said.

Choctaw police got a 911 call at about 1 a.m. Tuesday that a woman was on fire in the middle of an intersection. Officers and emergency crews with the Harrah Fire Department found the woman severely burned and with trauma to her body at Northeast 23rd Street and Triple-X Road.

Oklahoma City police said Brackett's boyfriend had called officers late Monday night to report an abduction. He told officers that two black men came to his house, located on North Francis Avenue, and forced Brackett into their vehicle.

That vehicle, investigators said, is a 1990s model Chevrolet Caprice.

After Brackett was beaten and set on fire, she tried to get help from neighbors in the area, but many of them could not hear her, police said. She walked about a quarter-mile down a road and knocked on doors.

Ok, I was gonna say a 37 year old woman left her name as Baby Girl?
That is so awful.
