My much-maligned loyalty to all things Nintendo suffered a setback this week when I read Gamespot’s hands-on coverage for Stranglehold. Coming to the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC platforms, Stranglehold is directed by John Woo (Face/Off, Broken Arrow) and stars Chow Yun Fat as Inspector Tequila, a cop battling the mob.Billed as a “third-person action shooter” set in Hong Kong and Chicago, to hear Gamespot tell it, it is going to be a wild ride, and Gamespot only got to play one level! With such descriptive words as “graceful” “satisfying” and “pretty cool” it seems like this is going to be the E3 standout. Between cart driving, nightsticks, more guns than an Ahhhnold movie and “at will” slow motion effects, this game sounds like it has something for everyone. It ain’t a game for the kids though. This may push me over the edge and force me to get a 360.
If you ever watched a Chow Yun-Fat movie and wanted to kick as much ass as he does, this is probably your game. - Gamespot.com
