A teacher has been charged in McIntosh County District Court with second-degree rape of a minor. Stephanie Layman is accused in connection with sexual relations with one of her former male students.

Worth noting:

Under state law, sex between a school employee and a student younger than 20 is considered rape, even if the act is consensual.

So I'd like to know the student's actual age to begin with, which the article does not mention.

wow. :( I read that to mean the child was under age 18, was I wrong?

i think it means that even if the child is over 18, if they are under 20 teachers are not allowed to have relationships with them. probably due to an abuse of power thang.

Looks like the site you reference is sort of a blog site, like D'D. I've seen you cite it a couple of times. Since it's that sort of site, it's not really the ideal source material for D'D threads--I know I don't want to have to travel through several sites to get back to the original news source. I just figured he was stupid and only read that site. I was feeling all sorry for him - like maybe he was mentally challenged. No more sorry for him.

Doesn't matter because I quickly learned not to click links that go there. Like Lizard, I don't want to dig to get the actual story (I'm lazy like that)
