The identities of the shooting victims were not released and it was not immediately known what relation, if any, they had to the missing boy.
The suspect has no relation to the child, said Lt. Ronnie Armstead with the Richmond police.
Harris said the child, identified in the Amber Alert as Kaiden Gage Burnside, was wearing a red plaid shirt, corduroy pants and a cream-colored vest with a Christmas tree on it. He is 2 feet tall and weighs 30 pounds, according to the alert. [..]

http://i44.tinypic.com/2149nc6.jpg
Richmond Police identified Jamal Clemons as the suspect they are seeking...
Richmond police tonight have identified the man sought after the slayings of two people on Church Hill and the abduction of a 2-year-old boy.
Jamal Louis Clemons, 27, of the 700 block of North 35th Street is wanted for abduction, three counts of robbery, three counts of robbery with a firearm and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony by a convicted felon, police said in a news release.
Police say the attacker fled the scene of the shooting of a man and a woman in the 800 block of North 35th Street and stole an SUV left on the street with its engine running. Officers said earlier he was apparently unaware that Kaiden Burnside had been left unattended.Clemons was described by police as a black male, approximately 5-feet-7-inches to 5-10 with a thin build. He was last seen wearing a black hoodie and baggie blue jeans. He has a full beard.
Police identified the boy as Kaiden Burnside, 2 feet tall and 30 pounds.
Officers are looking for a 2012 white GMC Terrain, license number XCZ-6757, with a broken left taillight. State Police said in an Amber Alert the vehicle may have traveled east toward Williamsburg Road.

Police searched late tonight for a man suspected of killing two people on Church Hill and then fleeing in a stolen SUV that had a 2-year-old boy in the back seat.
[...]
A man and a woman were shot at a multifamily residence in the 800 block of N. 35th Street about 5 p.m., Richmond police said. The fleeing assailant then stole an SUV — apparently unaware that the child was in the back seat — that had been left on the street in front of the building with its motor running, said Maj. Steve Drew.
“We don’t believe that he knew there was a child in the back seat,” Drew said.
Police identified the boy as Kaiden Burnside. Drew said officers are looking for a 2012 white GMC Terrain, license number XCZ-6757, with a broken left taillight.
The suspect was described as black, in his mid- to late-20s, 5-feet-7-inches to 5-feet-10 with medium- to light-colored skin and a full beard. Police said he was armed with a handgun.
Police issued an Amber Alert for the boy. Kaiden is white, with blond hair and blue eyes, wearing a red plaid shirt with a cream vest and green corduroy slacks, police said.
Identifications of those killed and the suspect were not immediately released by police.
Police also did not provide information on Kaiden's address or his parents.
Officers did not immediately disclose a motive in the killings or explain the relationships of those involved in the attack that took place at what a spokeswoman described as a rooming house. But Drew said police believe the attacker knew the victims.
“We don’t believe it’s a random act,” he said.
As police issued an all-points bulletin for the suspect and child, officers fanned out and cordoned an area of about a block and a half. The house where the killings took place is across the street from a retirement community in the former Nathaniel Bacon Elementary School.
Police would not say in what direction the SUV might have fled or provide details about the search for the vehicle. According to the Amber Alert, the vehicle may have traveled east toward Williamsburg Road.

A massive Christmas Eve search for a 2-year-old boy who was in the backseat of an SUV that was stolen following a double-slaying in Richmond ended around midnight with the boy being found safe.
Richmond police said in a Tweet late Saturday: "2-year-old Kaiden Burnside is OK. Found alone inside SUV off Jennie Scher Road. Thanks to everyone for assistance."YAY!!! Thank God.
Authorities late Saturday identified the suspect as 27-year-old Jamal Louis Clemons of Richmond, Va. They say Clemons is wanted for abduction, robbery, robbery with a firearm and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony by a convicted felon.
Richmond city police said in a press release that shortly after 5 p.m., officers responded to a report of two persons dead and found an adult man and an adult woman inside a Church Hill residence. Both had been fatally shot.
Witnesses reported that a man fled the scene inside a 2012 white GMC Terrain SUV that was left with the motor running and the boy strapped in the back seat, the news release said.
The Virginia State Police issued an Amber Alert at 9:39 p.m. Saturday for the boy, identified as Kaiden Gage Burnside. They described him as having short blond hair and blue eyes, and wearing a red plaid shirt, a cream-colored vest with a red truck carrying a Christmas tree, dark green corduroy slacks and white light-up sneakers.
"The child is believed to be in extreme danger," the alert said.
City police described the suspect — later identified as Clemons — as a black man in his mid- to late 20s, 5-foot-8 and 150 to 160 pounds, with black hair and wearing dark jeans and a black zip-up sweat shirt with a hood. He is believed to be armed with a revolver.
"We don't believe that he knew there was a child in the back seat," Richmond police Maj. Steve Drew told the newspaper.
Police said they didn't believe the shooting was random but have not released additional details about the victims or their potential relationship to the suspect.
Officers continued to search early Sunday for the suspect.
Richmond police did not return repeated calls from The Associated Press on Saturday evening.

Another story:
A 2-year-old boy who authorities say was abducted following a home invasion robbery and double homicide in Richmond, Virginia, was found late Saturday, police said.
Authorities said a suspect fled the scene of the robbery and homicides in a vehicle that was idling near the home. The toddler, identified as Kaiden Gage Burnside, was inside the vehicle, they said.
"The car and the child have been recovered," said Lt. Ronnie Armstead, a spokesman for the Richmond Police Department.
The boy was unharmed, Armstead said.
The identities of the shooting victims were not released, and police believe they had no relation to the boy. The suspect has no relation to the child, Armstead said.
Authorities have pieced together the events of the home invasion and shooting through the statements of a witness who was inside the house at the time of the shooting, Armstead said. That witness was not related to the suspect nor man and woman who were killed, he said.
Police have issued an arrest warrant for Jamal Clemons, 27, on suspicion of abduction, robbery, robbery with a firearm, using a firearm in the commission of a felony and a felon being in possession of a firearm, Armstead said.
Clemons, according to authorities, lives on the same street -- about a block away -- from the home invasion scene.
Investigators believe the assailant did not know the child was in a white GMC vehicle when he stole it, Armstead said.
The vehicle was discovered by police a short distance from scene of the home invasion, he said. Authorities believe that when the perpetrator realized there was a child in the vehicle, he abandoned it, Armstead said.

This was a pretty awful guy to kill two people but not so awful to hurt an innocent defenseless baby. This does beg the question, "Where is Bianca?" Because whatever happened to her, we all know it wasn't because someone wanted a car.
so wonderful this one had a happy ending for this little guy.

I guess this is a little bit in poor taste since two people are still dead, but I'm really glad the little guy didn't lose his parents.

Virginia Man, Jamal Louis Clemons, Charged in Murders, Child Abduction in Court
RICHMOND, Va. - A Richmond man accused of killing two people and abducting a 2-year-old on Christmas Eve was arraigned Tuesday as police worked to upgrade charges against him.
Media outlets report 27-year-old Jamal Louis Clemons was arraigned via video conference in Richmond General District Court. He faces abduction, robbery and gun charges.
Police said Monday they would seek additional charges related to the shooting deaths of 60-year-old Edward Bowmer Jr. and 56-year-old Robin Sheryl Clapp of Richmond.
WWBT-TV reported that Clemons was released from Pamunkey Regional Jail on Friday, one day before he is accused of shooting Bowmer and Clapp then stealing an SUV that was left running with Kaiden Burnside in the back seat. Kaiden was found still inside the vehicle at a nearby cemetery several hours later and reunited with his family.
Burnside was not related to either of the victims. Police have released no other details about the child or the child's family.
The public defender's office said it did not immediately know which attorney was appointed to represent Clemons.
Court records indicate Clemons has been convicted in the past of several drug, identity theft and assault charges.
The hunt for Clemons ended Monday, when federal marshals and Richmond police stormed a Richmond home about 3 miles from where the shootings took place and arrested him. Clemons had refused to come out, but police said he surrendered to officers inside.

UPDATE: Killer's mother convicted for role in Richmond Christmas Eve slaying
Robin Mines will likely serve 25 years in prison for her role in the Christmas Eve robbery and murder last year of Edward Lee Bowmer Jr.
A seven-man, five-woman jury took less than an hour this morning to come up with the minimum possible sentence against Mines, whose role in the mother-son death of Bowmer was more as an accomplice than shooter. Mines' son, Jamal Clemons, 27, has pleaded guilty to shooting to death of Bowmer and his friend, Robin Clapp.
Richmond Circuit Judge Beverly Snukals set sentencing for Sept. 14 but cannot impose a punishment above the jury's recommendation, which was the minimum possible. Mines had faced up to two life terms.
Bowmer's son, Kenneth, 24, said after court that Christmas Eve will always be a day of mixed feelings for his family and that his father was always his best friend and confidante. "My father always told me to see the positive of every situation, not the negative," he said.
Prosecutors in the case did not ask the jury to set a specific sentence but called the killings of Bowmer and Clapp a heinous crime that shocked the community and was likely orchestrated by Mines, 52, a neighbor of Bowmer's.
Mines did not testify during the sentencing phase of the trial but wept inconsolably when she heard the verdicts after about three hours of deliberations over two days. She turned briefly to a daughter who stormed out of the courtroom, angrily denouncing the decision.
Prosecutor Christopher Toepp said after court that investigators believe Clapp was shot dead by Clemons because she was unable to open a safe containing an uncertain amount of money. And while the bloody safe eventually was opened, possibly by Bowmer, authorities said it has never been determined how much money was taken or how it may have been used.
Toepp and co-prosecutor Christopher Jones portrayed Mines as the mastermind behind the crime who used her son as the triggerman. A trail of pilfered goods behind Bowmer's home helped detectives track down Mines, who'd stuffed stolen items in a sack.
Family members called Bowmer a kind soul who had moved into the neighborhood believing who could get along with anyone. "Today was a victorious day for justice," said Bowmer's sister Addie Asbury.
