Deputies Continue Search for Missing Woman
Deputies are still searching for a mother of two who has not been seen since last Thursday, after she attended a child custody hearing.
Nicole Fields, 26, was reported missing Thursday, when her mother notified law enforcement that she did not return from a scheduled court hearing at the Osceola County Courthouse. Fields’ court hearing involved custody with the child she has with her estranged boyfriend, Steven Louis, 28. Throughout the day, Fields’ mother told detectives she attempted to contact her daughter by phone, after she failed to pick up her child from the babysitter, but without success.
Osceola County investigators traveled to the Florida Keys to locate Louis and found him driving Fields’ vehicle. Eventually, detectives were able to take him into custody when he crashed the vehicle, but not before Louis took them on a chase.
Louis is in hospital being treated for minor injuries, investigators said. He will be returned to the Central Florida area, where investigators will continue to question him in connection with Fields’ disappearance.
Investigators received information that both Fields and Louis were spotted in the Ponciana area and could have spoken to an older man on the day she was reported missing, cfnews13.com reports. They are appealing for this person to come forward.
Fields is described as a white female, approximately 5’4”, 150 lbs., with waist length blonde hair and blue eyes.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office at (407) 348-2222 or Crimeline at (800) 423-TIPS (8477).

A 10-inch kitchen knife was found in Nicole Fields' missing car and her ex-boyfriend Steven Louis had cuts on both hands after he crashed her car Friday in the Florida Keys following a 100-mph police chase, new reports show.
[...]
Louis owed Fields more than $12,000 in unpaid child support but Fields had asked the court to forgive almost all of the money he owed before the hearing Thursday morning:
"I would like Steven Louis to get credit for $11,700.00 for child support owed because he was incarcerated & was not able to pay," she wrote in an Aug. 31 motion. "He is out now and I would like to give him a fresh start in helping to take care of his daughter."
Louis, 28, apparently never received a copy of the motion as mail sent to him was returned as undelivered, records show.
Last Friday, the Osceola County Sheriff's Office issued a statewide alert about Fields' disappearance and expressed concern for her safety. Louis had been calling his family and saying he might hurt himself, said sheriff's spokeswoman Twis Lizasuain.
The last unconfirmed sighting of Fields and Louis happened late Thursday — hours after the court hearing Louis did not attend — when both may have been driving in Poinciana on the Osceola-Polk county line and stopped to speak with "an older man."
"Detectives really want that person to come forward," said Lizasuain, who released a recent photograph of Louis in hope someone might remember seeing him and Fields. The photograph shows Louis in a hospital bed at the Lower Keys Medical Center, where he is being treated for a possible cocaine overdose as well as injuries suffered when he crashed fleeing authorities.http://www.orlandosentinel.com/news/local/breakingnews/os-nicole-fields-missing-mom-orlando-20111107,0,3292653.story
The family is certain Nicole Fields is in grave danger.
"Steven's sister told me, 'I would be very scared for your sister's life,'" said Kaela Fields', Nicole's sister. "We were totally freaked out before then and that made it official…For my sister not to pick up her kids or her phone is crazy. That's not my sister at all."
Nicole's mother, Sherri, said her daughter regularly called her four to five times a day. But she hasn't had a call since Nicole went to the hearing Thursday.
Nicole's family is taking care of her younger daughter, Kaliya, 2, who is Louis' child. Nicole's older daughter, Nyomi, 8, is with her father.
Friends and relatives of Louis told deputies that he had been making threats to harm himself.
"I don't know what happened between them," said Louis' sister, who did not give her name.
Court records show Louis is a convicted drug dealer who was charged in 2008 with aggravated domestic battery in a case that was dropped. Nicole Fields was the victim in that case and had suffered violence at other times from Louis, Kaela Fields said.
A year later in July and September, 2009, Fields sought orders of protection from domestic violence against Louis. The temporary orders were dismissed in October, according to Osceola court records.
Three months ago, Fields re-opened a child-support case against Louis. Thursday's hearing was called so Fields could present records showing how much child support Louis had paid and how much he owed.http://www.orlandosentinel.com/news/local/breakingnews/os-missing-mom-osceola-20111104,0,3443571.story

Police: Missing Woman's Ex-Boyfriend Arrested
KISSIMMEE, Fla. -- A man who has a child with missing Osceola County woman Nicole Fields was arrested Wednesday night.
Steven Louis was led to jail after two days of questioning at the Osceola County Sheriff's Office.
Louis didn't answer any of WESH 2's questions on his way to jail. He kept his head down, as tears were streaming down his face.
Louis is charged with aggravated battery, and additional charges are pending.
"Louis has been cooperative with detectives but he has not provided any new information that might lead to Nicole," said Twis Lizasuain, of the OCSO.
[...]
"He did indicate that he and Nicole had been in that area, and that is why detectives searched that area today," Lizasuian said.
Crews have been searching a wooded area on the Polk-Osceola County line and several neighborhoods near Walnut Street and Coyote Road.

Search Under Way For Missing Woman
K-9 Units, Mounted Patrol Search Near Pond
POINCIANA, Fla. -- Deputies in Osceola County said they are searching the Poinciana area Wednesday for a missing woman.
Authorities with the Osceola County Sheriff's Office said they're searching two specific areas of the county for Nicole Fields, who hasn't been seen since she went to court in hopes of getting back child support from her Steven Louis, who is her ex-boyfriend
[...]
From the air, on all-terrain vehicles and on horseback, the search for Fields centered on a wooded area near the Polk-Osceola county line. It's an area that includes a pond and a creek.
The area was targeted for a ground search based on statements that Louis made, detectives said.
"Our priority is to locate Nicole," Osceola County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Twis Lizasuain said. "We have not confirmed any information about her, and hopefully, today's search will lead to her."
The larger area being searched is in Polk County, but the Osceola County neighborhood where Louis lives is being canvassed house by house. Fliers were put in the hands of people who may have seen something Thursday that could help investigators solve the case.
"If it was my child or my wife, I would want them to find her too," a resident said.
Tuesday was Fields' 27th birthday. A candlelight ceremony hosted by her family was well attended.
"I'm never going to lose faith," Kaela Fields said. "I have hope that my sister is somewhere. We just don't know."
Louis is the father of one of Nicole Fields' daughters. The girl is too young to know what the search is about or why there is so much worry about her mother.
"She's not here, and we're all here," Kaela Fields said. "We're just praying for her to come home."
Louis was transported to the Osceola County Sheriff's Office on Monday, and investigators have been questioning him ever since.
Officials said he has provided them with some important information in the search for Fields.
"Louis is cooperating, and based on the information he has provided and other detectives have gathered, we are in these two specific areas today," Lizasuain said.
Fields was last seen Nov. 4 when Louis arrived in Key West.
Authorities in Monroe County tried to stop Louis for speeding. Deputies said he fled and crashed the car into the Gulf of Mexico.
He was in Fields' car, and investigators said they found a 10-inch knife was found in the vehicle.
Louis spent several days in a South Florida hospital before he returned to Osceola County. The car was also returned for processinghttp://www.wesh.com/news/29721904/detail.html#ixzz1dH6Z2IPL

Police have been looking for Nicole Fields, 27, since last Thursday. She was last seen leaving the Osceola County Courthouse following a child support hearing involving Steven Louis, the father of one of her children.

Bad enough he's probably (most likely, obviously) responsible for her death, but after she asked the court to forgive his child support debt? Damn.

A body found in Polk County is that of missing Orlando mother Nicole Fields, and her ex-boyfriend will soon face a murder charge, investigators said Friday.
The Osceola County Sheriff's Office announced the finding on Fields, along with a medical examiner's determination that the 26-year-old mother of two died of multiple stab wounds.
[...]
Two deputies found the body Thursday next to a tree behind a home at 612 Robin Lane in the Poinciana area, sheriff's spokeswoman Twis Lizasuain said. The house, about 10 minutes from Louis' home, appeared to be foreclosed or abandoned, she said.
Authorities had been searching for Fields body since Louis told investigators earlier this week that "she may not be alive," Lizasuain said. Surveillance footage supplied by local residents helped detectives place Fields and Louis in the search area.
Louis had been "very emotional" and helpful with investigators, the spokeswoman said. He had visited the area where the body was found with detectives but wasn't present when Fields was found.
There is no indication that anyone else knew where the body was, Lizasuain said.
[...]
Monroe County investigators reported finding a 10-inch kitchen knife in the car, but Lizasuain said it remains unclear whether that knife was the weapon used to end Fields' life.
Deputies questioned Louis on Tuesday, which would have been Nicole Fields' 27th birthday. An expansive search followed on Wednesday and Thursday.

Steven Louis, a fugitive from Central Florida caught in the Keys, has been charged with second-degree murder in the death earlier this month of Orlando mother Nicole Fields, according to the Osceola County Sheriff's Office.
Detectives obtained a felony warrant Thursday for his arrest. He has been held in the Osceola County Jail after his capture following a high-speed chase two weeks ago in the Lower Keys.
The case will be prosecuted in Polk County, where Fields' body was found Nov. 10 in Poinciana, a community straddling the Osceola-Polk county line.
Prosecutors from the Orange-Osceola State Attorney's Office will assist Polk County prosecutors in the case after Louis, 28, is extradited to the Polk County Jail in Bartow.

I am always hopeful that these cases won't turn out this way, but it seems they most always do.
Why on earth would he kill her if she wanted to excuse most of the huge amount of child support he owed her. If he didn't go to court, maybe he wasn't aware?
Those poor kids. So young and having their mother taken away from them by the father of the little one. It's bad, but it could have been worse and he killed her AND the kids.
