When commenting or adding a new thread the scroll bar goes up and down by itself , Whats going on?
When you get it to where you want it the fucker moves again

Mine does something like that at times. I think my problem is the mouse. I can pull the bar where I want it and left click and she stays put. Are you seeing a grayish circle with Up/down arrows on the screen when that happens?

if you are on a laptop and using a plug in or wireless mouse this can happen a lot too as well as other weird shit, disable the laptops little touchpad mouse, its different on every laptop how to do it, you will have to look the instructions up online, also on the mouse, you know that little dial in the middle between the left and right click buttons? when that is pushed down it goes into fast scroll mode.

After some thought on this post, I realized that I have noticed that in the reply/new thread areas. When posting new threads, I type what I want at the top, skip a few lines and post the link then go between the two for the quote I want to post. Once the box is full, it does do that!

Mine doesn't jump during auto save. :noidea: Maybe depends on what you're running? I watched all day while posting to see if there were odd jumps during posting/commenting and didn't have it happen.
I can check if there's a setting that can turn it off... unless someone really likes the auto-save (I never use it).

The auto-save is pretty new. I've only seen it in the last month or 2. I can only guess that was to battle the lost post things that were happening before. Try putting more "quoted" text into the box than it can handle and you MIGHT see that. Trying to add the link at the bottom of a box of text is difficult at times.

As I mentioned, it must depend on your system because I don't think I've had anything like that happen. There may be quirks on certain operating systems or browsers.
You can expand the size of the text entry box. In the bottom right corner of the box frame are 3 diagonal lines. If you hold-n-drag them to make it bigger. Not sure if that will help whatever problem is going on but you can try it.

there's a setting that can turn it off... unless someone really likes the auto-save
Admin CP -> Settings -> Options -> Message Posting and Editing Options -> Auto-Save Content
If you set this to 0 it will disable Auto-Save.
Try that out for a day and see if it fixes the problem
My guess is its set at 60 seconds

It's automatic for everyone. By "not using it" I meant I don't use the feature although it's there.
I have sent a message to Morbid.

I don't have the issue. I have updated the forums to the latest version, including a host of big fixes. If the problem persists, let me know and I will disable the feature..
