Im a sucker for when miltary people return and they sneek in and surprise their kids or even when the dogs go nuts,
I cry like a baby
Heres a video montage of some dog reunions

I know they do seem to understand,
but its funny our dogs know when "daddy" is due home and sit and stare at that door until he walks in
But being in hosp has them screwed up but he Skypes them lol
I love the dogs as much as the cats but they are totally devoted to him and tolerate me walking/running them and stuff yet I do all the feedings etc,etc
He has more time to take them out back (when hes home) and play soccor with them and they love it

Dogs Go Nuts When Military Masters Return I do have to disagree with this just a bit. I'm sure you know that we are not the masters. Animals pretty well own us! I do love the video though! That stuff is great to see!

Not so happy dog...

This heart-wrenching photo shows how a Navy SEAL’s dog refused to leave his master’s side during an emotional funeral.

Petty Officer Jon Tumilson, 35, killed in the major U.S. helicopter crash in Afghanistan this month, was remembered by around 1,500 mourners.

But it was his Labrador retriever Hawkeye that really captured the public’s emotions in the photo taken by Mr Tumilson’s cousin, Lisa Pembleton.
[...]

Family members followed Hawkeye into the service. Mr Tumilson is survived by two sisters and his parents, George and Kathleen.http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2029688/Navy-SEAL-Jon-Tumilsons-dog-sits-coffin-funeral.html

I was going to try to post that story but I'm glad you did it first DV! The bond people can have with animals is incredible to me.

I saw quite a few on the news lately also where the soldier is killed and parents or other family members are paying to have the dogs sent back to them in states and keeping them
thanks DV
