59-Year-Old Mom, 72-Year-Old Dad Abandon IVF 'Wrong Sex' Twins

A British couple abandoned their newborn twin girls, conceived by in vitro fertilization, at a hospital — because they wanted boys.

The 59-year-old mother and 72-year-old father conceived in India with fertility treatment and returned to England for the birth.

They told horrified hospital workers they did not want the “wrong sex” babies immediately after the Caesarean section at New Cross Hospital in Wolverhampton, England.

The husband then asked how soon it would be before his wife could try IVF again in the hope of getting a boy to continue the family name.

Female babies are often abandoned in India for being the wrong sex.

The mother — one of Britain’s oldest— discharged herself against the advice of doctors who told her she should stay for more than a week after her operation.

Wow, what horrid people it takes to have twin girls and then leave them and comment that they want to try again for a boy! Hopefully those girls will go on to have a very happy life with adoptive parents that love them and want them. I hope that no docs will go near them after this, but money is everything and I'm sure for the right price someone will do IVF with them again.

More over, while it is shitty of them to just abandon the baby girls in the hospital. My understanding is that not only is it common to abandon, but kill, infant girls in India because of status and custom. Even more however, we should be grateful that these people didn't kill these babies, and that they do have hope of being adopted.

They don't deserve to be parents, beside the fact they are as old as hell. Someone will give those babies a better home than two decrepit old people who only want to pass along the family name. bah...
